WHY DO A HANDFUL OF BLACK PEOPLE LOVE AND DEFEND WHITE BIGOTRY?

Beneath the Spin*Eric L. Wattree

EXCELLENCE IS THE KEY TO BLACK EQUALITY
.
WHY DO A HANDFUL OF BLACK PEOPLE LOVE AND DEFEND WHITE BIGOTRY?
.
THE WHITE IDOLATRY COMPLEX

.
My educational background is in psychology, so ever since Donald Trump has been in office I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about Black conservatives, or what I call Black bigot huggers. While these people are relatively rare among Black people, I’ve run across a significant number of them online. Some are high-profile, like Ben Carson, “Diamond and Silk”, and Candace Owens, and others are more obscure, like a gentleman I ran across by the name of CJ Goode III, but what they all have in common is a rabid devotion to White bigots.
.
At one point I thought their dysfunction was the result of a traumatic experience in their lives, but that explanation didn’t hold up, because most Black people have endured negative experiences in life, yet it didn’t disrupt their capacity for logical thought and simple common sense. So I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s a mental illness. They were born that way, and I call their pathology “The White Idolatry Complex”.
.
Most Black people know by nature that White bigots suffer from a severe insecurity which causes them to desperately embrace a delusion of superiority in order to comfort their lack of self-esteem, so recognizing that fact, the average Black person simply work around them, much like when they’re dealing with a child. But not Black bigot huggers. Bigot huggers not only accept a bigot’s delusion of grandeur, but encourages it, and then they become hostile with any other Black person who refuses to join them in their idiocy, as though refusing to kiss the White man’s ass is an arrogant act of unholy heresy.
.
CLARENCE THOMAS
The primary reason I concluded that such people are born with a mental disorder is because we can see signs of the tendency in some children before they know anything about racism and bigotry. We’ve all known that child in school who would always suck-up to the teacher and stay after class to spit-shine the blackboard of a teacher that everyone else in the class hated. Then on the playground he would brag, “Mr. Cummings is mean to you guys, but he likes me.” That’s your future bigot hugger.
.
Now, we were all taught to be conservative as children, because we lacked experience and judgment, so we were taught to rely on the guidance of adults to do our thinking for us for our own protection. But as most of us gained intellectual maturity, we began to think for ourselves and became independent and progressives thinkers. But bigot huggers never mature to that point, so all of their lives they continue to spit-shine Mr. Cummings’ Blackboard. But later, Mr. Cummings is replaced by Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Donald Trump, or their local preacher, and they never learn to think for themselves.
.
The primary reason for that is they’re born weak-minded and with a lack of self-esteem, so they don’t have the confidence to think for themselves. As a result, they remain intellectual children all of their lives - and just like actual children, they yearn for that pat on the head and nod of approval from those they consider authority figures, because they rely on stronger personalities as an extension of themselves. So they literally need these people to make themselves whole, to replace that part of their self-reliance and sense of competence that’s missing in their own character. That explains why they become so hostile when we refuse to join them in their ass-kissing festival. When we’re critical of their heroes, they consider it a personal attack on themselves.
.
Deep inside, these people know there’s a flaw in their character, because they’ve always felt insecure and they’ve spent their entire lives trying to avoid thinking about it. So that too contributes to why Black conservatives are invariably so hostile. When they’re confronted by other Blacks regarding their political beliefs, they’re forced to confront their insecurities, and they don’t appreciate that worth a damn. So in response, they'll begin to spew bigoted and stereotypical claims about the thinking of normal Black people, and then use White propaganda to spew what it means to be a "true American", and then they erect a false façade of superiority and walk away claiming that it’s the rest of the world that’s flawed. So such people are completely delusional. Much like Trump, they use self-delusion as a defense mechanism that allows them to live with themselves.

IS IT EVEN POSSIBLE TO BE MORE IGNORANT, OR A BIGGER UNCLE TOM THAN THE ONE BELOW?
.
I know, folks, it looks like a Saturday Night Live skit, but it’s REAL! How is it possible for the Black community to produce an idiot like this!!!? They couldn’t give me $300 million to put out a video like this. This bigot-huggin’ lunatic is a perfect example of Donald Trump's view of a Black man's place - orgasmic over a pat on the head, and goofy and ignorant as hell. This guy even LOOKS like an Uncle Tom. This grinnin’-ass cotton seed makes Stepin Fetchit look like a Black Panther. This is the perfect personification of a Black conservative. How in the hell can an idiot like this POSSIBLY have any friends? And as for my contention that it's a mental disorder, I rest my case.

CONSERVATISM HAS PROVEN ITSELF TO NOT BE A PHILOSOPHY BUT A PATHOLOGY

Beneath the Spin*Eric L. Wattree

EXCELLENCE IS THE KEY TO BLACK EQUALITY

CONSERVATISM HAS PROVEN ITSELF TO NOT BE A PHILOSOPHY,
BUT A PATHOLOGY

The primary reason that so many conservatives are in love with Donald Trump is because he’s a perfect reflection of themselves, right down to the last flaw. While he doesn’t share any of their alleged “values” (Trump doesn't have any), but he does share their pathology, and they love him for it, because as President, he validates their belief that their flaws aren’t really that bad. But simply believing such a fantasy is a flaw in itself – it’s delusional.
.
Conservatism’s not a political philosophy, it’s a mental dysfunction that causes a person to desperately cling to past traditions and concepts that’s familiar to them at all cost. That’s how the so-called political philosophy got its name. Conservatives are dedicated to “conserving” all things that are familiar, and they consider anything unfamiliar as a threat. The primary reason for that is, more often than not, conservatives are not the most intellectual among us, and they're so untrustworthy themselves, that they assume everyone else shares that trait, so they consider anything requiring thinking outside of the box a possible ploy, and not to be trusted. That's why so many conservatives reject the the concept of climate change. They consider the concept an elitist conspiracy, and they consider anyone who went past high school, or who's arrogant enough to try to think, an elitist.
.
So, unlike progressives, who are analytical, fascinated by new possibilities, and eagerly embrace “progress”, conservatives are more inclined not to trust anything new. They’re more comfortable with the status quo. They rely on the minds of the past to guide them. That way, they’re not required to think.
.
That accounts for how so many of them can claim to be Christians while at
the same time lacking in any and all moral values. They don’t care anything about morality – if they did, they wouldn’t have slaughtered over 200 million Native Americans to steal their land, or enslaved over 12.5 million Africans to steal their labor, or engaged in 400 years of the most virulent forms of bigotry. They guided by The Doctrine of Discovery, which makes it morally acceptable to exploit anyone unlike themselves.
.
But they can't see that, because they’re blind to any facts that don’t serve their interests. So they tend to be autocrats by their very nature – they have to be to maintain the status quo and desperately avoid all manner of thought. Thus, it's not enough for them to control their own thoughts and behavior, they're not comfortable unless they can also control your thoughts and behavior as well. That's where their religion comes in - their claims of piety allows them to also claim that they’re controlling behavior is blessed and ordained by God. In other words, it's not so much that they choose to tell you how to live your life, but God chose them for the job.
.
RUSH: ANOTHER DRAFT DODGER
We've just witnessed a perfect example of their "nothing-else-needs-to-be-said" hypocrisy, in that regard. While the Republican Party claims to be the ultimate patriots who love God and country with a unique dedication more passionate than any other group in the world, in spite of the fact that they swore before God, country, and on the very graves of this nation's founding fathers that they’d be completely nonpartisan in their judgment during Donald Trump’s impeachment trial, after it was proven, without a doubt, that their hero used the founding document of this land for toilet paper, they simply said “We don’t want to hear any more”, and began to chant, “FOUR MORE YEARS!”. That proves irrefutably that the GOP's true convictions entail embracing whatever happens to be convenient for them at the moment, and that they’re completely willing to ignore God, country, or any oath administered to accommodate their own needs. Such people are dangerous, and much too reckless, self-serving, and immoral to be trusted with the reins of power.
.
REPUBLICAN SENATOR MITT ROMNEY

.
When viewed from an objective perspective, it becomes clear why conservatives love Donald Trump so passionately - they love him because they’re just like him - they're ignorant, deceitful, self-serving, narcissistic, and corrupt. And that doesn't constitute a political philosophy, that’s an American disability. So the bottom line is, if America intends to survive as a nation, rabid conservatism is a disease that urgently needs to be addressed, treated, and eradicated.

STOP DEMOCRATIC SLANDER AND DEFEAT FASCISM

Beneath the Spin*Eric L. Wattree

EXCELLENCE IS THE KEY TO BLACK EQUALITY
.
STOP DEMOCRATIC SLANDER AND DEFEAT FASCISM

It’s one thing to discuss the pros and cons of the various Democratic candidates, but yet another to engage in slander. We must stop the political slander of fellow Democrats. I’ve seen posts in liberal groups that could have been posted by "United Fascists For Trump", and you can be assured that such groups will be posting tons of such material as imposters as the election grows closer. But if progressives follow a simple rule of thumb – never slander another progressive – we’ll be able to recognize such posts immediately, because they’ll stick out as divisive and exactly the kind of thing that we would expect Trump supporters - and Russia – to post online.

So, let’s not help the fascists by slandering our own. Stop posting material that divides the progressive coalition and focus on getting Republican fascists out of office. We should allow progressives to make up their own minds about which Democrat they want to support. That way when we come to a consensus, a third of us won’t be so upset that we’ll refuse to vote.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with Joe Biden, or any of the other Democratic candidates, when you compare them to Trump.  Yes, every politician has shortcomings, but stop hanging on to their every word or gaffe to try to find fault. That's the way they started doing Obama. Then when they found that he was too articulate for them to attack him using gaffes, they started claiming he was a Muslim, or wasn't born in America. So when you hear such nonsense – and you will - your first thought should be, "Who has the most to gain from spreading such slander?"
Now, I don’t intend to imply that being accused of being a Muslim is slanderous, but in the current political environment that’s the intent of the allegation, and we’ve got to learn to live above such bigotry, it’s un-American. True Americans believe in freedom of speech, thought, and religion. The failure to understand that fact is the province of the current GOP, because they can’t survive without hatred and division to prop them up, and that’s exactly why it’s so important to get them out of office.
We have over a year before the next election. So, listen to the candidates and make up your own minds on who you want to support, and base your decision on common sense, not nonsense. In the 2008 election I didn’t agree with everything Obama said, and as President I was livid over his failure to prosecute Bush and Cheney for war crimes, but Obama turned out to be one of the greatest presidents in American history in spite of those shortcomings.
On the other hand, during the 2016 election many Democrats (including myself) were fighting one another more fiercely than we were fighting the Republicans over who was going to be the Democratic nominee, and look at what we ended up with, and what ended up happening in the end.  So, let's not make that mistake again. We should take great pains not to get caught up in personality cults, because that causes us to dig-in and fight with one another over our respective choices.  That's division, and division leads to defeat.
So, let us be smart this time. We should remain calm and united, come to a general consensus, and then all come together and support the nominee of choice. We claim that Trump supporters are idiots. Let's prove it.

DIAMOND AND SILK - IDIOTS IN BLACK

Beneath the Spin * Eric L. Wattree

DIAMOND AND SILK
IDIOTS IN BLACK

A.K.A.
IDIOT AND IMBECIL
.
We were all raised to be conservatives.  When we were children we were taught to believe that all good children must be respectful of adult authority figures, so we should never question authority and ALWAYS do what we're told. In other words, we were taught that we couldn't trust ourselves to think, because we had pus for brains. That's why when we were in grade school, no matter how mean and nasty a teacher was, we were always courteous and respectful, and that's also why we always had that one suck-up kid in class willing to go over the top and stay after class to clean the blackboard.  You know, the "teacher's pet." Well, today that kid is sitting around watching Fox News.
.
"FAIR AND BALANCED"
When we were kids being taught to be conservative served a useful purpose, it kept us safe as mindless children.  But most of us eventually grew up and began to think for ourselves. We began to see ourselves as responsible adults in our own right.  We learned to have confidence in our own thoughts, so we didn't need others to guide our thinking.  Those were the people who grew-up to become liberals and progressives. The other people, who never managed to grow up, and never developed the confidence to become independent thinkers became conservatives, and as a result, all their lives they remain content to rely on what they consider "authority figures" - preachers, politicians, Fox News personalities, and the like - to control their minds and do their thinking for them. For that reason conservatives come in at least one of three varieties - greedy, bigoted, or mindless - and in many cases they’re a bundle of all three. That's also why they invariably speak in programed talking points, and that's exactly what we have here in Diamond and Silk, mindless children desperately seeking 'daddy's ' approval.
.
I've written extensively about how conservatives tend to be mindless followers, and you can see a perfect example of that in the NFL controversy. The American flag is a symbol of American values, and the freedom of expression is the very FIRST Amendment of the United States Constitution. And as a former United States Marine I can tell you for a fact that the Marines who died for this country didn’t die for either a piece of cloth, a song, or the opinion of a cowardly draft dodger like Donald Trump. They died for what that beautiful  piece of cloth represents - the right for Colin Kaepernick to do exactly what he’s doing. Without that right both the American flag, and the National Anthem, would be totally meaningless. But most conservatives don’t possess the intellect to see that.
.
As a result, Donald Trump has convinced his mindless conservative minions that it's wrong and unpatriotic to exercise the rights guaranteed under the Constitution - it's fine to brag about them, but it's grossly disrespectful to actually act upon them - and his mindless minions obediently follow his lead.  But the fact is, those who follow Draft-Dodging Donnie and who are jumping up and down about patriotism and how the flag is being disrespected, these are the people who are actually disrespecting our flag and the troops, not Colin Kaepernick. These people are trivializing the very values for which our Troops gave their lives. They’re allowing a dummy like Trump to manipulate them into promoting bigotry and stupidity in an attempt to tear this nation apart, and thereby, escape the consequences of his own criminality.  So to allow themselves to be complicit in that effort is what’s actually un-American, and it takes a complete idiot not to see that.  And that's exactly the kind of mindless stupidity that Diamond and Silk are engaged in.
.
Being ignorant is a horrible state of affairs for anyone, but in the case of these two Black women it's tragic. Failing to develop into a logical and independent thinker is bad enough for a White person, but if you're White, at least you have a White supremacist society to somewhat protect your interest, but if you're Black and suffer from that intellectual disability, it's absolutely pathological.  Black people can't afford to be ignorant, it's a life threatening condition.
.
TRUMP: "WILL YA JUST LOOK AT THESE IDIOTS!"
And ignorance and stupidity is exactly the case with Lynnette ‘Diamond’ Hardaway and Rochelle ‘Silk’ Richardson.  They're not only placing themselves, but everybody with Black skin in the direct path of an ever lurking danger for Black people, but they're much too stupid and self-serving to realize that.
.

These two Black women are desperate to be embraced by the very White people who view them as useful idiots at best, and Aunt Jemima-like clowns at worse.  But they're willing to accept that, because people like themselves have no self-respect, or respect for their people - in fact, in many cases they're even racist 'Bligots' themselves. Ignorant Black people like these put Black children at risk by helping to validate a philosophy that considers it perfectly routine to shoot Black people down in the street like dogs, and then praise the murderous cop for performing a public service. The Black community needs to ostracize these two idiots for life.
.
Black people like Diamond and Silk who embrace the conservative philosophy have been taught all their lives that the most conspicuous evidence of "having arrived" - and being one of the "good coons" - is moving as far away from the closest Black person as they can get and purging all vestiges of Black consciousness from your mind. And it doesn't matter to them that they'll never be fully accepted by White folks and always treated like an obedient pet, as long as they can perceive of themselves as being a notch above those "disobedient" Black heathens, that's good enough them. So they get out on stage and make absolute fools of themselves, and then allow themselves to be trotted out before the world to praise a racist, Nazi-sympathizing, misogynist bigot. So they've not only turned on Black people, they've also turned on women as well.
.
But eventually, when they've outlived their usefulness and have exhausted the novelty of their 10 seconds of fame, they're going to be discarded by the White man like a soiled Tampon - just like Allen Keys, Herman Cain, Allen West, and Omarosa Manigault, just to name a few - and when that happens, the Black community should never forgive them.  Omarosa is on a "Please Forgive Me" book tour as we speak, and the Black response should be, "Get the hell outa here, you jive-ass turncoat."
.

The Black community cannot continue to allow such turncoats to disrespect our culture and then come running back to us once they've been kicked to the curb by the White man.  They've already proven that they can't be trusted -  that's why the White man execute his turncoats. While I don't advocate that we go that far, I do strongly suggest that the Black community relegate all such people to the status of pariahs for the rest of their lives - and that should also go for undercover turncoats like Tavis Smiley and Cornel Wests who claim that they just "did it for the cause" -  Well, where the hell are they now!!!?
.
So the Black community needs to handle it's business without a scintilla of sympathy for these Bligots. That'll get the attention of potential turncoats and cause them to think long and hard before they turn on their own people. We've got to make the consequences so severe that the money and notoriety that the White man dangles before them as an enticement is just not worth it. We've got to make them understand that no matter how much money and notoriety you amass, if you're universally despised, money and infamy will make for a piss-poor companion. All they have to do is ask Trump - he'd give away every penny he's got just to be loved, admired, and respected like Barack Obama.
.
And finally, we shouldn't wait until the White man kicks a turncoat to the curb.  As soon as they go down that path we should ostracize them.  That way they will be of no value to the White man. We've got to make the word "conservative" ring just as abrasively to the ears of Black people as the word "justice" does to the ears of the White establishment.
.
DAMN FOOLS

THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS BAD KNOWLEDGE

BENEATH THE SPIN • ERIC L. WATTREE

THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS BAD KNOWLEDGE

THERE'S AN ERROR IN THIS POSTER. HILLARY ONLY CAMPAIGNED
FOR BARRY GOLDWATER. SHE WAS ONLY 17 AT THE TIME OF THE ELECTION.
BUT SHE WAS PRESIDENT OF "THE YOUNG REPUBLICANS" AT

WELLESLEY COLLEGE.
A couple of friends asked me in response to a piece I did on Hillary Clinton why was it necessary to bring up the fact that Hillary Clinton campaigned for Barry Goldwater over 50 years ago. I'll respond to that question with a question - why not bring it up? A true progressive always gives truth priority over ideology.  In fact, that's what it means to be a progressive. So again, tell me, why shouldn't I mention it?
.
I'm a writer.  My job is to disseminate information and  knowledge, and since there's no such thing as BAD knowledge, I don't pick and choose what knowledge I disseminate. A writer writes to relate knowledge, not hide it. The tendency to be selective in the dissemination of information and knowledge is one of the most serious problems that we have in this country today. Isn't that one of the major complaints being lodged against the mainstream media?  And it's a valid complaint, because it's led to an entire generation of under-informed people - a population of people who are merely  "edge-ucated,"or who have only been brought to the edge of a true education, because someone, somewhere, have decided that revealing certain information to them is "inconvenient." That's also THE primary reason that most people don't know the many contributions that Black people have made to this country, because someone decided that information was inconvenient.
.
The fact is, you probably wouldn't be currently reading this article on your beloved Personal computer if it wasn't for a Black man. "Dr. Mark Dean is a Ph.D. from Stanford University. He's in the National Hall of Inventors, and he has more than 30 patents pending. He is a vice president with IBM" - Oh, yeah, and he's also the principle architect of the modern-day personal computer. "Dr. Dean holds three of the original nine patents on the computer that all PCs are based upon."(http://weallbe.blogspot.com/2007/10/black-man-invented-pc-as-we-know-it.html).
.
DR. MARK DEAN PRINCIPLE ARCHITECT OF THE
PERSONAL COMPUTER
Thus, the fact that Hillary Clinton was a part of the Barry Goldwater campaign in her youth may be quite significant to a person who wasn't cognizant of that fact. And it takes on more significance when you take into account her current association with the very secretive Bilderberg Society, and even more significance when you consider the political strategy espoused by her close friend and mentor, the late Saul Alinsky.  Alinsky said, "True revolutionaries do not flaunt their radicalism. They cut their hair, put on suits, and infiltrate the system from within."  Hmmmm . . .
.
Thus, a person who wasn't aware of this fact may want the opportunity to assess her motives for themselves. After all, it's not like Hillary was a naive little girl who was simply following in her mommie and daddy's footsteps. She was so passionately motivated that she didn't simply support Barry Goldwater, she took it to the next level and actually went to work on his campaign. So that obviously wasn't just a young girl's passing indulgence.  Then when she went to college she became the PRESIDENT of the "Young Republicans" at Wellesley College. That reflected a passion, commitment, and dedication to the conservative cause.
.
So to say that Hillary spun on a dime is an understatement.  Thus, the question that needs to be pondered is, did she suddenly undergo a passionate epiphany, or was her sudden change of direction a cynical calculation based on ambition, because she saw which way the wind was blowing.  Every individual deserves the right to make that assessment for themselves.

.
So again, why should I take it upon myself to hide Hillary's past from those who may not have that knowledge?  It's one thing to admire a person (as I do Hillary Clinton),  but let us not get so caught up in our admiration of an individual that it causes us to go blind and stupid. That's also a serious problem in this country. That's what conservatives do.

A Message To A Very Close Conservative Friend

Beneath the Spin * Eric L. Wattree

A MESSAGE TO A VERY CLOSE CONSERVATIVE FRIEND

Tom,

You just don't seem to get it. It doesn't matter why Obama had his educational records sealed. That's his business. Maybe he just doesn't want crazy Republicans harassing teachers and friends in his background just to try to find dirt to use for political advantage. The less information you make available to conspiracy nuts the better, because it gives them material to distract from addressing America's business.
.
If Republicans were as tenacious in addressing America's business as they are in trying to find dirt on Obama, this nation would be experiencing some of the most astounding success that it has ever experienced, but instead, they're acting like irate children determined to sabotage American progress. The American people are sick of it, and you're going to pay a heavy price for it in coming elections.
.
Americans are adults who are interested in addressing the nation's concerns, but the Republican Party is determined to play in a sandbox and engaged in spitball fights. It's a clear sign of ignorance, an inability to focus, and gross immaturity. That's why they're such grossly inept administrators and had to literally HIDE both Bush and Cheney during the last two election cycles.
.
That's why I'm so shocked with you, Tom. It makes me scratch my head - how can a person be so brilliant in his profession, and most other areas, yet be so clueless regarding political issues? If this was anything other than politics you'd see right through it - and I know you can. When your Conservative buds started pilling in on me, it was like a light switch went on in your head. Your military training kicked in and it was you and I against them, and you defended my position more effectively than I could. So I KNOW you know this stuff. But when it's just me and you, all of a sudden you become clueless again. What's up with that? I think I'm just the only progressive you like, so politically, you're thinking with your emotions rather than your intellect.
.
Answer the question and read the links below. They say it all. Tom, you don't fit in with Republicans. You have a different set of values. I know for a fact that you're not a racist, and you have much too much intelligence to be hangin' with the dummies. Get onboard, man, and start fighting for America. That's your nature.

I haven’t Totally Given Up on Obama, but as My Late Wife Used to Say, He’s Working My Last Nerve

Beneath the Spin * Eric L. Wattree

I haven’t Totally Given Up on Obama, but as My Late Wife Used to Say, He’s Working My Last Nerve

I haven’t totally given up on Obama . . . yet.  But I thought I’d write this article just to ensure that there’s no need for speculation about how many of his more politically sophisticated base view the current political landscape.

I’m an Obama supporter, but I’m not an Obama cheerleader. While I agree that President Obama has done more for this country in the short time he’s been in office than any president since Franklin Roosevelt, presidents are not only assessed based on what they do, but also what they fail to do. So in spite of the fact that he’s saved America from a second Great Depression, his success in that area pales in comparison to what he’s failing to do - aggressively confronting America’s most insidious domestic enemy and the most serious threat to our democracy since the civil War, the current GOP.

President Obama made his first mistake when he said, “We should look forward, not back,” with regard to the Bush/Cheney war crimes in Iraq. First of all, the attorney general is supposed to be independent to decide what course to take in such matters, so Obama was supposed to simply keep his mouth shut and let his attorney general decide whether or not Bush and Cheney’s “alleged” war crimes warranted prosecution. By failing to do so Obama effectively established, and elevated Bush and Cheney to a class of people who are above the law - and that's not a good thing in any democracy. It was such a class in the Jim Crow South that allowed Black people to be lynched with impunity.

But in spite of that, many Obama apologists often argue that the president is only one man, so he can’t do everything. That’s an invalid argument. First, one man or not, the president sets his own agenda as to what he considers important to this country. And secondly, the president of the United States has the largest staff of lawyers and experts in the Western world, so why can’t he do everything? That’s his job. Even Obama himself said that the president has to be able to do many things at one time.

But even if the president can’t do everything, failing to aggressively confront the Republican Party constitutes neglecting the biggest threat to America in generations. The GOP is a bigger threat to the American way of life than Al Qaeda. Al Qaeda can only destroy buildings, but the GOP is on a single-minded mission to destroy the United States Constitution, and in his oath of office, the president swore to protect that precious document.

So those of us who are merely supporters of the president, as oppose to blind cheerleaders, understand that the primary reason this country is in its current mess is because the American people have been brainwashed into supporting politicians instead of principles. That’s why our system can be so easily controlled by money. Money is being used to brainwash us into loving politicians over principles. It’s the oldest game in the world. We are literally being pimped. It’s just that instead of selling our bodies, we’re selling our souls – and the souls of our children.

When we support politicians over principles we tend to ignore, or go into protective mode, when the politicians that we support go off course. That allows politicians to control us. On the other hand, if we supported principles over politicians, politicians would be forced to adhere to the mandate that got them elected, which would allow us to control them.

As I’ve pointed out many times in this column, the primary quality that should set progressives apart from all others is an affinity for humanity, independence of thought, and a fierce determination to remain a seeker of truth above all else, regardless to where that truth may lead. But those values no longer seem to be the case among many who define themselves as progressives today. Many contemporary 'progressives' tend to possess the very same rigidity of thought, and meanspirited, knee-jerk adherence to ideology that the progressive movement was created to combat. The response that many of these people bring to even the slightest divergence from their rigid ideological beliefs can only be described as one of radical reactionism.

That concerns me greatly, because while conservatives and today's so-called progressives remain completely divergent in their views toward governance, in terms of intellectual disposition they've become different sides of the same coin. I've often heard it stated that the regimented intolerance of reactionary conservatism is reminiscent of Nazi Germany. That may, or may not be true. But if it is, it must also be acknowledged that the intolerant regimentation of many contemporary radical 'progressives' represents the USSR at best.

Many modern 'progressives' have allowed themselves to become infected with the exact same kind of intellectual rigidity that we previously associated with the radical conservative mindset. In fact, many who define themselves as progressives today could very accurately be called latter-day conservatives. They have a slightly updated set of values, but their rigidity and rabid defense of their ideology will surely morph into the closed-minded conservatism of tomorrow.

While many liberals are busily distracted in fighting for the political fortunes of 'their man', radical conservatives are hard at work taking America apart, both brick and mortar. Thus, while the patient is lying on the operating table dying, the surgeons are engaged in a feud over what brand scalpel to use. And while we should be saying I love America, we’re being distracted by cheerleaders chanting, “I love me some Obama.”

I like Obama too, but not nearly as much as I love America. Thus, a politician should only be supported as long as he adheres to his mandate, no matter how warm his smile, or how nice a guy he is. If we’re looking for love, we should go out and find a lover, because if we want to maintain the kind of democracy in which we've become accustomed, when it comes to politics, there’s absolutely no room for blind love affairs.

GOP ‘Patriots’ Strike America Once Again

BENEATH THE SPIN • ERIC L. WATTREE

GOP 'Patriots' Strike America Once Again

My computer is still warm from my last article where I pointed out that the GOP is no longer conservative, and has become anti-American. Now, reinforcing my position, they've struck out against America again. In last week's column, "Limbaugh-Beck and the GOP Patriots Against America", I pointed out that you can say what you will about true conservatives, but they are fiercely patriotic, and will ALWAYS, support America, regardless to what the circumstances.

But this current group of renegade Republicans are clearly demonstrating not only that they're not true conservatives, but they're not even loyal Americans. With every day that passes it becomes increasingly clear that their only concern is making money, regaining power, and accommodating their own self-interest, and they're more than willing to throw America under the bus to achieve those goals.

Evidence of that fact is they've left no stone unturned to protect the insurance industry, deny Americans affordable health care, and literally celebrated America's loss of the 2016 Summer Olympics. Now, as though to reinforce my thesis, these so-called patriots have struck again by attacking President Obama being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

Regardless to your politics, just take a moment to ask yourself, considering America's low ebb in world opinion over the past eight years, would any true conservatives, regardless to their domestic grievances, criticize the Nobel Peace Prize being awarded to the President of the United States? Absolutely not.

To have such an honor come to these shores should be a cause of celebration for every American in the country, since even the biggest fool in America should recognize that this honor gives our president the added international cachet to successfully pursue American foreign policy abroad. But in spite of that, upon receiving news of this honor coming to America, the Republican National Committee issued the following statement:

"The real question Americans are asking is, 'What has President Obama actually accomplished?' It is unfortunate that the president's star power has outshined tireless advocates who have made real achievements working towards peace and human rights. One thing is certain - President Obama won't be receiving any awards from Americans for job creation, fiscal responsibility, or backing up rhetoric with concrete action."

The question that the world must be asking is, 'What kind of idiots are we dealing with here in the United States that would be so actively working against their own government?'

The GOP seems to be completely oblivious to the fact that the Nobel Peace Prize is not limited to simply what has taken place since the inauguration, but what the rise of Barack Obama represents overall. After all, What other world leader in history has done more to inspire the hope of people all over the world than Barack Obama, and in such a short period of time? This man is, literally, perceived as the walking, breathing personification of hope for people all over the world, so to have given the Nobel Peace Prize to anyone else would have been remiss.

In addition, by indicating in its formal GOP statement that "President Obama won't be receiving any awards from Americans for job creation, fiscal responsibility, or backing up rhetoric with concrete action", the GOP is betraying the fact that they think the American people are stupid. One would think that the Republican Party wouldn't even want to mention these issues since it is only due to Republican malfeasance in office for the past eight years, their fiscal irresponsibility, and failure to adhere to their 'small government' rhetoric that has caused Americans to be without jobs in the first place.

But the American people have come to ignore such nonsense from the Republican Party, because they recognize that due to a clumsy Republican attempt to manipulate public opinion, most GOP missives of this sort comes from Michael Steele, the closest thing to a love child between Michele Bachman and Snoop Dog (Sorry about that Snoop).

The fact is, I challenge anyone reading this article to give me the name of any other person alive who could have rejuvenated America's stature in the world more effectively than Barack Obama. I also challenge anyone to give me the name of any person alive who could have brought more hope to the people of the world than Barack Obama. This man could have been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize upon inauguration and it would have been perfectly justified.

I only wish the president hadn't chosen to apologize for receiving this award, because there’s absolutely no doubt that he’s exactly the kind of man that Alfred Nobel had in mind when he created it. Thus, this honor wasn't bestowed based on stats - this was an azward that came directly from the heart of the people, as it should always be.

So President Obama had absolutely nothing to apologize about. He not only deserves this honor, but by receiving it he’s elevated the stature of all those who preceded him.

The Republican Party claims that Obama only received this award because of his superstar status. But as with most things, they have it completely backwards. President Obama didn’t receive the honor because he’s a star, he’s a star because he has the very qualities in a world leader that deserves to be honored.

Even so early in his presidency, our forefathers are smiling down upon this man with pride. Even as I write, I can hear Thomas Jefferson saying, "Scoot over Abe, we've got company."

So wake up, America, before it's too late. The GOP deals exclusively in hatred, fear, and war. Torture, death and descension is their forte, because there's no money to be made in peace.

Congratulations, Mr. President. Alfred Nobel has never been done so proud.
