THE MODERN REPUBLICAN PARTY HAS MORPHED INTO THE DOMESTIC ENEMY OF THE UNITED STATES

Beneath the Spin * Eric L. Wattree

THE MODERN REPUBLICAN PARTY HAS MORPHED INTO THE DOMESTIC ENEMY OF THE UNITED STATES

For the past thirty-five years the Corporate-GOP Alliance has been engaged in a brutal assault on the American people. They've sent our jobs out of the country, while at the same time, the Republican congress has blocked any funding for the government to create jobs by repairing the nation's badly deteriorating infrastructure, which was a highly successful tactic used to rescue the nation from the Great Depression. These actions have subjected the American people to needless suffering while corporations are enjoying record profits.
.
At the same time, they abolished the "Fairness Doctrine," which forced broadcasters to give equal time to opposing views, and then they completely took over the mainstream media, which allowed them to lie with impunity. Thereafter, they began to subject the American people to an intense campaign of corporate brainwashing and disinformation over the cause of their suffering, and they mounted a vicious attack on our educational system. Teachers are being demonized, elementary, middle, and senior high schools are being defunded, and the cost of college has been placed beyond the reach of the Average American without going deeply in debt. Then, to ensure these policies remained in place, the Republican led Supreme Court ruling on "Citizens United" gave a foreign CEO based in Singapore more control over the American political system than an American citizen.
.
All of this wasn't done without reason, and that reason is clear. The corporate establishment in this country is trying to create a permanent underclass that will be completely dependent upon their every whim.  By the time they're done, the options of the average working-class American will be few - they can either work for slave wages, or they can go into the military and lay their lives on the line in an endless string of wars to pad the pockets of a growing number of war profiteers. So they are forcing the poor and middle class to pay for the wars, and then fight the wars - because the children of the rich are no longer even expected to die for this country; that's the job of the 'little people'. Thereafter, while the war profiteers are raking in all the profits from poor and middle-class death and misery, when the veterans come home wounded or completely disabled, they call them deadbeats and cut their benefits. Those are not the actions of American patriots.
.
"In Congress, Republicans in both chambers have launched sweeping attacks on long-held centrist priorities and have renewed threats to block Obamacare. These attacks are seen in House bills slashing spending in almost every federal program except for the military [they didn't cut the military budget because that money is funneled back into the pocket of war profiteers] and domestic policing for the federal fiscal year starting October 1. Anti-poverty, education, human services, environmental protection, energy, labor, Wall St. oversight-all face cuts averaging 20 percent, although some areas face cuts by a third or more.
.
"Rabid Republicans are also acting with renewed zeal to roll back voting rights in key Southern states. In
North Carolina and Texas, GOP-led legislatures are resurrecting a catalogue of Jim Crow-era barriers to minority voting, in response to the U.S. Supreme Court overturning of the 1965 Voting Right Act's toughest enforcement provision. In North Carolina, the GOP wants to repeal 20 years of best practices that made North Carolina a model of fair and accessible elections. In Texas, the GOP wants to revise political districts to dilute minority representation and pass tougher voter ID laws."

http://readersupportednews.org/opinion2/277-75/18636-six-ways-rabid-republicans-are-declaring-war-on-america
.
Nevertheless, most Republicans tend to wrap themselves in the American flag and walk around with flag pins in their lapels, but their unconscionable assault on the American people is anything but patriotic. Their purposeful undermining and exploitation of the American people could only be perpetrated by a greedy, power-hungry, and self-serving domestic enemy of this nation. But due to the affects of corporate brainwashing, they have the American people divided and at one another's throat instead of seeing reality for what it is.
.
Americans aren't suffering because of their fellow citizens; they’re suffering because they’re being robbed blind by the Corporate-Republican Alliance. Undocumented workers aren’t taking their jobs; their jobs are being sent out of the country in order to make the American middle class more accepting of a lower standard of living. And labor unions are not what’s destroying jobs; jobs are being outsourced to destroy labor unions. Yet, corporate conservatives have a shrinking middle class railing against the poor, Blacks against undocumented workers, and Christians against any, and everyone, who doesn't look, think, and act like themselves. Thus, the most lethal weapons against American democracy - hatred, suffering, ignorance, and division - is being used against us, and the Corporate-Republican Alliance are using those weapons quite effectively in reverting a previously thriving American democracy into what is beginning to look ominously close to a third-world nation.
.
So it is essential that the American people open their eyes and take this threat to our democracy seriously, because this nation is sliding downhill, and very fast. Who would ever have thought that they would live to see a vice president of the United States outing an American CIA agent, or 47 American senators sending a treasonous letter to a foreign head of state in an attempt to undermine American diplomacy on behalf of a second foreign power. And who would have thought that we'd ever see in our lifetime a governor of a state knowingly exposing a city of 100,000 people to led poisoning, which will retard the intellectual growth of children and have a negative impact on their health for the rest of their lives? And considering the fact that the city is predominantly Black, and the minority of White people there are poor, it's Hitlerian in its ramifications. So Rick Snyder should not only be forced to resign, but he should be charged, at the very least, with criminal negligence, because every time we allow the Republicans to get away with something like this, they take it one step further. That's why the nation is sliding downhill so fast.
.
And again, the assaults being perpetrated against America listed above would have been unheard of in the United States just a short time ago, and it's all being done by greedy and self-serving Republican politicians who are completely disinterested in the interest of the American people. Their interest lie in America remaining miserable, angry, and divided, and they're doing everything in their power to keep us that way.
.
So these are not traditional American politicians that we're dealing with here. We're now in a class war, and these Republican politicians are the enemy's assault troops.  So regardless to your race, creed, or color, if you don't have a few million dollars stashed away somewhere, you're their enemy. These are the very "domestic enemies" of the United States that we were warned about in our founding documents.
.
And these people didn't just pop up out of nowhere. They've been around as "sleeper cells" since the very founding of this nation; they've just had to keep a low profile to carry out their agenda. Because many fiscal conservatives are not just racist, they're also class bigots. One of the founding fathers of conservative thought was Alexander Hamilton. He was an aristocrat who advocated that poor and middle-class Americans should be relegated to second-class citizenship, and the GOP has fully embraced his agenda. Hamilton said the following:
.
AND THESE ARE NOT JUST THE BENEFITS
OF MINORITIES OR
LIBERALS THEY'RE GOING AFTER
"All communities divide themselves into the few and the many. The first are the rich and wellborn, the other the mass of the people.... The people are turbulent and changing; they seldom judge or determine right. Give therefore to the first class a distinct, permanent share in government. They will check the unsteadiness of the second, and as they cannot receive any advantage by a change, they therefore will ever maintain good government." Debates of the Federalist Convention (May 14-September 17, 1787).
.
While Hamilton’s position was resoundingly rejected by the vast majority of the founding fathers - whose primary reason for coming to America in the first place was to get away from the European class system - there were many of Hamilton’s ilk who chose not to recognize the American ideal that "All men [and women] are created equal." Then they were later joined by Southern Dixiecrats, or social bigots, who also rejected the ideal of human equality.
.
But what social conservatives fail to realize is that the corporate conservative's rejection of human equality includes them. Corporate conservatives don't care any more about them than they do any minority.  They're just being used to keep America divided, but once the corporatists seize firm control over the government, and social bigots are no longer needed, they're going to be thrown onto a virtual plantation right along with everyone else. The attempt to hide that fact is what accounts for the corporate conservative's intense distaste for public education.
.
Corporate conservatives want to restore control over the American worker that they had during the Great Depression, and if you take a close look at the Republican platform it is clear that they're on a single-minded mission to do just that.  During the Great Depression there was no such thing as Social Security, so when a person became too old or weak to work, they had no income so they had to depend on their children for support. That meant instead of a husband and wife only having to support themselves and their children, which was tough enough during those times, they also had to support their parents as well. So there was often three generations of a family in one household – and in many cases, the parents of both the husband, and wife, lived with the family.
.
As a result, in some cases the entire family, including the children, had to work long, hard hours under sweatshop-like conditions in coal minds and the like, which in many cases led to the death and/or maiming of young children. So in a very real sense, Great Depression era workers lived under a form of slavery – the one difference was, they had to go out and find their own housing.
.
In addition, there was no such thing as Medicare or Medicaid, so when one of the grandparents became ill the medical costs would devastate the entire family. These conditions kept lower and middle-class families in such dire need of funds that they had to accept whatever crumbs the business community chose to throw at them – and remember, at that time there was no Fair Labor Standards Act or unions to protect a worker’s rights or a minimum wage, so businesses could treat the worker anyway they wanted, and pay them whatever they wanted.
They could work you 16 hours a day, 7 days a week, with no overtime, and no paid vacation. In addition, since there was no child labor laws, if your boss didn’t think you were being productive enough, he could insist that you bring your children in (as young as 9 years old) to assist you if you wanted to keep your job. Then if you protested, he could fire you on the spot, in which case, your entire family – sick grandparents and all – would be thrown out on the street, because there was no such thing as unemployment insurance.
.
Thus, corporate conservatives depend on a poorly educated public for their very survival, because even a rudimentary familiarity with history would reveal both their background, and agenda. They don't want you to know that the people who lived through the Great Depression and fought WWII, the people who we refer to as "The Greatest Generation," wouldn't let a Republican anywhere near the White House.
.
Our grandparents elected Democratic President Franklin Roosevelt into office an unprecedented four terms, from 1932 until he died in office in 1945. Thereafter, Republican nominee, Thomas E. Dewey, had to push for the Twenty-Second Amendment creating presidential term limits for a Republican to even get a whiff of the White House, and even then, a Republican wasn’t elected until Dwight Eisenhower in 1952 – and he was only elected because he was the allied commander credited with winning WWII, and he was a Republican in name only.  He signed the 1957 Civil Rights Act, and sent troops into Little Rock Arkansas to integrate the schools.
.
In addition, as President Eisenhower’s very last act of office he warned the American people of the military/industrial complex, or people like Dick Cheney and the kind of Republicans we have in office today. He had no use for them. Ike would have summarily shot Dick Cheney had he been in office when Cheney allegedly outed CIA operative, Valarie Plame.
.
So the “Greatest Generation” understood what we’re only now finding out the hard way about the Republican Party due to the GOP’s systematic dismantling of our information and educational systems – their pronounced greed and lust for power has rendered them prone to being reckless, irresponsible, without limits, and a danger to our democracy. That's why they Hate Donald Trump, because he's making all of their shortcomings and hidden agenda glaringly clear to the public.
.
DONALD TRUMP IS A CAPITIALIST AND A BAD JOKE, BUT HE SERVES A USEFUL PURPOSE - HE REVEALS HOW CONSERVATIVES REALLY THINK.
.
Donald Trump is an ignorant, mean-spirited, xenophobic, and self-serving racist who's willing to tell any lie he can conjure up to promote his own interest. That makes him the quintessential Republican, and that's exactly why he's leading in the Republican polls. But the Trump phenomenon says it all. While the GOP establishment is distancing themselves from Trump, it's not because they disagree with what he's saying, it's because he's either too dumb, or too self-serving to realize that he's not suppose to be saying what conservatives truly believe out loud.  While the Republican establishment has been saying the exact same things as Trump for years, they’ve been saying it in political code, and with a wink.
.
So the Republican establishment is afraid that this Trump episode will openly reveal their unspoken assault on the American people for decades, and the facts are simple - while the Corporate-Republican Alliance are all wearing American flag pins in their lapels and constantly paying lip-service to wanting to bring prosperity to the average American, an unequivocal historic record clearly demonstrates that this has never been the case, and not only that, it has never even been a part of the GOP's agenda.
.
So in the 2016 election the American people are going to be given a choice to come clean. Do they really want the kind of America that they're always bragging about and profess to believe in, or do they actually want a fascist nation that subjugates the working class, demonizes minorities, and supports a Gestapo-like police forces that kill innocent Black children on the street with impunity? For those rabid conservatives who feel like they could live with the latter, they should think long and hard, because as their current living conditions suggest, this time it's not about simply establishing an Aryan nation, it's about establishing a corporate feudalist oligarchy where poor and working-class White people and their families are just as meaningless as any minority. Think about it - did they only send Black jobs out of the country? I don't think so. Are they now, even as I write, trying to take away the Social Security and Veterans benefits of only minorities?  No they aren't. And did Gov. Rick Snyder only expose Black people to lead poisoning in Flint, Michigan? Not really. So the facts are clear.  If you’re a poor or middle-class White person who don't have millions of dollars stashed away in a foreign account somewhere, they intend to make you the new 'coon,' just like they did during the Great Depression.

A SOCIAL BIGOT
As a final comment to social bigots, while I would hate to see America come crashing down as a result of our own stupidity, if worse comes to worst, I'd be lying if I didn't admit that I wouldn't get a certain measure of satisfaction out of watching bigots get just what they deserve. You see, Black people are accustomed to dealing with the kind of adversity that would befall this nation. During the Great Depression while White folks were jumping off buildings, Black people were partying through the Harlem Renaissance and enjoying one of the most productive and creative periods in our history. So the irony is, in many respects the Great Depression worked to the advantage of Black people, because it leveled the playing field. During the depression White people were force to live under the very same conditions that Black people have been forced to deal with all of their lives - both then, and now. But due to the affirmative action program that White folks have benefited from in this society over the years, they just aren't equipped to deal with adversity. If you're already out to sea, you don't even feel a tsunami beneath you, it is only those who are living warm and comfortable on land who experience the devastation of its impact. That explains why my grandfather never even mentioned the Great Depression to me, because for him, it was just business as usual.

So What Do Progressives Do Now, In Response To The 2014 Midterm Disaster?

Beneath the Spin * Eric L. Wattree

So What Do Progressives Do Now, In Response To The 2014 Midterm Disaster?
.
There’s an old axiom that says, "When the going gets tough, the tough get going." I would like to modify that to say, "When the going gets tough, the tough get tougher," and that’s exactly what must happen now that the Corporate/GOP Alliance has taken over congress if we’re going to save America.
.
What we saw in the last election was the victory of ignorance over knowledge. That should never happen, and the only reason it did was because the knowledgeable didn’t assert themselves forcefully enough. One of the biggest problems that knowledgeable people often have is making the assumption that everyone can see what they can see. But that’s far from true. I warned my son and daughter about it as teenagers - NEVER assume that everybody can see what you see. The reason for that is, the knowledgeable are only knowledgeable due to their intellectual predisposition. They base their perception of reality ON reality, by giving truth, facts, and logic priority over what makes them feel most comfortable.
.
But there are many people in this world who don’t base their perception of reality on truth, facts, and logic. These people tend to be FEELERS, rather than thinkers, so they invariably give ideology priority over truth. When such people are faced with an inconvenient fact, instead of accepting that fact and using it to modify their perception, they’ll do whatever they have to do to contort truth into a configuration that fits comfortably into what they WANT to believe (Yale Study Shows that Many, Particularly Conservatives, Give Ideology Priority Over Truth). We can see that tendency at work in the conservative claim that, "President Obama is un-American - he’s engaged in a socialist plot to insure my family against catastrophic illness." That assertion sounds ridiculously funny to most of us, but to FEELERS who feel a desperate need to hate Obama, it represents perfectly sound logic, and the failure of progressives to recognize that fact, and act on it, is what led to the 2014 midterm disaster.
.
In my article, "The 2014 Midterm Election - A Towering Testament To Monumental Stupidity,", I allude to a letter that I sent to President Obama back in February in an attempt to avert this midterm disaster. In the letter I point out the following:
.
"So while I think you, personally, should continue in the mode that you’ve established, at the same time, you should create a staff - housed right next door to the Oval Office - whose sole purpose is to debunk Republican disinformation. Then, whenever any Republican appears on the news to distort reality, he or she should be able to look forward to the next day’s news cycle being flooded with information not only debunking his or her words, but also, examining every action that he or she has engaged in during their career that tends to be in conflict with their current position. In short, you should parade their hypocrisy before the American people.
.
"If you would take that simple action, Mr. President, you would not only drive home to the people the GOP’s hypocrisy, but you would cause individual Republicans to run away from the cameras instead of stumbling all over one another to be the first one to present the latest Republican assault on reality. In addition, it would appease the thirst for blood among the people in your base, provide writers like myself with grist for our mill, and also give us an indication of what areas of investigation would bear the most fruit."
.
I go on to point out that "Since much of the GOP’s popularity and success is based upon the complete ignorance of a sizable percentage of the American electorate, I’m convinced that if the President would have followed my advice and educated the American people to what they’re actually dealing with in the GOP, he could have done an end run around what we witnessed last night."
.
But the President didn’t choose to take my advice, and since, for some reason, our Democratic politicians don’t see fit to confront GOP lies and disinformation, as progressives, WE’VE got to become the staff that I spoke to the President about establishing. WE can use the internet to do the research, and WE can, and MUST, go on a single-minded mission to debunk GOP lies, and push TRUTH down America’s throat. If we don’t, the Corporate/GOP Alliance is going to attack, and try to reverse Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, the Affordable Care Act, unemployment insurance, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the minimum wage, the Voting Rights Act, and everything that’s been put into place to protect the poor and middle class America since the New Deal. That, is their agenda - to enslave the American people by leaving us totally dependent upon Corporate America.
.
Please start your research with the issues presented in the articles below. The information therein represents many hours of research, and provides posters that makes the information easily digestible. They'll give you much perspective, and will allow you to hit the ground running. Providing sound and irrefutable facts and knowledge is the key to getting America to open its eyes - and this may be our last chance to do that. Consider this. If the Corporate/GOP Alliance wins both the presidency and both houses of congress in the next election, the American experiment in democracy, is over.

The 2014 Midterm Election - A Towering Testament To Monumental Stupidity

Beneath the Spin * Eric L. Wattree

The 2014 Midterm Election - A Towering Testament To Monumental Stupidity
.
The objective eye of history is undoubtedly going to look back upon the 2014 Midterm Election as both validating the concept of divide and conquer, and, as a towering monument to the stupidity of contemporary American society.
.
In spite of the fact that the most pressing issue in American society today is to create jobs and complete the nation’s recovery from the Great Recession of 2008, the American electorate delivered a repudiation of the president who save the nation from descending into a second Great Depression, and provided a sweeping victory to the GOP, the very party that’s directly responsible for its current misery, and has a vested interest in ensuring that the nation remains miserable, hungry, and divided for the next two years.
.
How could that possibly happen? Well, there’s enough blame to spread around almost evenly, but let’s start at the top and work our way down.
.
While President Obama is a dedicated, accomplished, and highly skilled chief executive, he seems to have two personality traits that would ordinarily be considered commendable in a private individual, but must be considered a flaw in a politician. First, he’s the consummate gentleman, so he meticulously avoids ugly confrontation if at all possible, and that’s a serious shortcoming when you’re dealing with greedy, lying, and ugly people. Secondly, he also meticulously avoids tooting his own horn, which is also a serious shortcoming when dealing with people who specialize in denigrating his accomplishments, and padding their resume regarding their own. A perfect example of that is how the GOP has obviously convinced the American people that their unconscionable obstruction to the nation’s recovery was done in the best interest of the country.
.
Back in February of this year, I wrote an article, and sent a copy to the White House, with the presumptuous title, "Dear Bro. Obama"  (I hate that title, and I wish I could go back and change it), in which I addressed the above issue with the President:
In addition, it would appease the thirst for blood among the people in your base, provide writers like myself with grist for our mill, and also give us an indication of what areas of investigation would bear the most fruit."
.

Since much of the GOP’s popularity and success is based upon the complete ignorance of a sizable percentage of the American electorate, I’m convinced that if the President would have followed my advice and educated the people to what they’re actually dealing with in the GOP, he could have done an end run around what we witnessed last night.
.
But the President’s failure to confront the GOP’s manipulation of the people is not the only thing that led to last night’s result. Another huge contributor to last night’s GOP victory was the activities of the self-serving and hypocritical so-called "progressive" lip-flappers like Tavis Smiley, Cornel West, and Boyce Watkins, who spend all of their time attacking President Obama and the Democratic Party regarding what they’re NOT doing, while at the very same time being as quiet as church mice regarding GOP obstruction to voter rights, any form of job creation, extended unemployment insurance, women’s rights, gay rights, affordable health care, and anything else that might provide the least bit of relief to the American people. The collective and individual behavior of these so-called "Black activists" is far too defiant of logic for it to be either by accident or mere stupidity.
.
These three individuals, and others, have done a grave disservice to the very people that they claim they wanted to protect by convincing these people that they should be so upset with the "Bogeyman" that they should leave the backdoor unlocked for the Devil. As a direct result of their activities - and directly implying, in the case of Tavis Smiley and Cornel West, that the people should be so upset with Barack Obama that it would be understandable if the people decided not to vote - they have now placed the very people that they’re supposed to be so concerned about in, literally, the worst situation of their lives.
.
So to use a term that Tavis likes to sling around so "liberally," the people should hold them directly accountable for their behavior by relegating them to the ash heap of Black history. Considering the heavy and horrific price that Black people have paid for the right to vote, the mere suggestion that Black people not turn out to vote, alone, should be considered sacrilege for ANY so-called Black activist - and they've made a living off of undermining the Democratic agenda and enabling the GOP for, at least, 14 years, when Cornel West played such an integral role in helping to get George W. Bush elected President in the 2000 Election.
.
These people don’t make it a point to time the release of their books to come out just before every election for nothing. That gives them the opportunity to help the GOP by bad-mouthing the Democratic Party under the pretext of being on a "book tour." I've been trying to warn the people against the activities of Tavis Smiley, Cornel West, and later, Boyce Watkins'. It wasn't hard to predict the possibility of it leading to the Republican blowout that we witnessed last night, because Cornel West has done it before.
.
There's two ways of delivering a victory to the GOP, either directly advocating that the people vote Republican, or through the backdoor like these three, by making the people so angry at President Obama and the Democrats that they don't turn out to vote. Because what many people don't realize is, there's no such thing as not voting.  They're failure to vote is a vote for the side they dislike most.
.
For just that reason, I wrote two articles, back-to-back, just last month warning the people about these individuals - "The ‘Black Prophetic’ Mouth of Cornel West is At It Again - And As Usual, Just In Time To Sabotage Democrats In The Upcoming Election," and, "Is Cornel West A Judas Goat - When Was The Last Time You Heard Him Attack A Conservative Republican?" In the latter I point out the following:
.
"After Ralph Nader was rejected for the 2000 presidential nomination by the Democratic voters, instead of acknowledging his rejection and falling into line to help defeat the Republicans, Nader went into a petulant snit and ran as a third party candidate. It was clear that he purposely ran as a third party candidate with the mean-spirited intent of sabotaging the Democratic effort, because third parties never win; the only purpose that third parties ever serve is to help elect the people that you like least, because they divide the vote of like-minded people.
.
"Cornel West joined Nader in this foolish - or treacherous, you make the determination - campaign, and as a result, George W. Bush won the election over Al Gore by winning Florida by a mere 537 votes. The Nader/West coalition peeled off 97,488 votes from Gore in Florida alone. So when I say that Cornel West is more than a little responsible for George W. Bush becoming President of the United States, and thus, your current economic condition, don’t take my word for it – you do the math.

.
"Most people, if they were sincere, would look at the disastrous results of their activities and be devastated. After all, causing Bush to be elected was the worst possible outcome for everything West is SUPPOSE to represent. So most people would conclude that they had made a grave error, and that they would never do anything to divide the progressive vote again. But not Cornel West, he teamed up with Ralph Nader yet again in the 2012 election against Obama, and tried do the very same thing that they'd done in the 2000 election that resulted in Bush's presidency. The only thing that stopped them was, this time the people weren’t buying it."
.
The third element that contributed to last night’s election disaster is the people themselves - they are so grossly uninformed that they fail to realize that they’ve just cut their own throat (Fellow Americans, Don't Let Our Ignorance Destroy Us).
.
Many of the poor and middle class social conservatives who are undoubtedly dancing in the street with jubilation over striking a blow against Obama fail to realize that the fiscal, or corporate conservatives, whose win they’re celebrating, don’t care any more about them than they do Black people, Hispanics, women or gays. They don’t even share their agenda. The corporate conservatives have merely been catering to the social conservative’s bigotry and hatred to keep the poor and middle class divided, so they could be conquered. So what the social bigots are too dumb to realize is, they’ve just voted themselves into the status of "the new niggas."
.
What the social bigots should have been asking themselves is, when the corporatists started shipping jobs overseas, were they just eliminating Black jobs, or did their jobs go too? And during the housing crisis, was it just Blacks, Hispanic, and gay people who lost their homes, or did they lose their homes as well?
.
The corporate/GOP alliances ultimate goal is to transform America from a democracy, to a corporate feudalist society, where corporations control every part of our lives. We may still get to vote, but our votes will be meaningless, because they’ll have so much control over our lives that we’ll know that if we vote the wrong way, we’ll be punished. They’ve already started the conditioning process. They’ve already conditioned many of us to believe that organized labor - historically, the best friend of the poor and middle class - is evil, they cause us to lose jobs; they’ve also conditioned many of us to believe that the minimum wage is a bad thing, because it causes us to lose jobs. So they using the withholding of jobs to slowly lower the American middle-class standard of living to conform to the global economy, where many workers make less a week, than American middle-class workers spend on lunch a day.
.
And another thing, if you social bigots think the corporatists are going to conform to your desire to keep undocumented workers out of the country, you’d better think again. The corporatists have a vested interest in allowing as many undocumented workers into the country as they can get, because they make you have to compete for lower paying jobs, which again, lowers the middle-class standard of living. Thus, you’re determined insistence on remaining a bigot, has led to you cutting your own throat. It’s ironic, isn’t it?

The Very Silent Black Majority

BENEATH THE SPIN • ERIC L. WATTREE

The Very Silent Black Majority

Chris Stanco:
.
"Question. Why aren't the blacks all up in arms over the way Obama is treated. I work with mostly minorities, a black woman is my boss and they never say a word in his defense IN MY PRESENCE. and I'm always hearing fascist shot from the whites. Is the divide so wide that there's no dialogue possible."
.
Chris,
.
The reason the Black community is not out in mass in defense of President Obama is because he doesn't need our defense. He's doing quite nicely on his own, and we're confident that he's quite capable of handling anything that they can throw at him. We expected what's currently going on from the day that he was elected, and so did he - we would have been fools not to expect it. In addition, the silent Black majority in this country don't suffer fools. We don't have to.
.
We WANT the GOP and other social bigots to remain fools, because we have our own agenda that's kept pretty close to the vest, but it's gradually beginning to reveal itself. So we don't intend to say a word in defense of who we are. We WANT bigots to think all Black people are undereducated, saggin', and swaggering. Thus, we have no intention of getting all excited and trying to prove our value. The days of trying to prove ourselves to White folks are over. We intend to SHOW the bigots of this nation what they've created, just like Barack Obama is currently doing - and the fact is, they've created their worse nightmare, because adversity has made us MORE, rather than less.
.
Living our entire lives having to out-think and out-maneuver racist bigots and institutional racism hasn’t been without its intellectual rewards, and neither has being involved in a marathon where White people are spotted 100 yards and we’re forced to compete in lead boots. Spending our lives having to deal with that kind of adversity, and still managing to remain competitive, has contributed greatly to our intellect, character, and perseverance. It is that very experience that’s allowed President Obama to stand head-n-shoulders above the GOP, and contrary to popular belief, he’s far from an aberration in the Black community.
.
While the GOP has been on a single-minded mission to dumb-down America, and has been lodging a brutal assault against the nation's educational system in order to conceal their atrocious history and malevolent agenda, many in the Black community are using that as an opportunity to level the playing field by doubling-down on the education of their children so they'll have the upper hand in the future.
.
Many of us have come to understand that "knowledge is power" in a real and personal way. Those words are just an adage to many Americans, but not to a huge part of the Black community, because we've had to live the bitter consequences of failing to recognize their significance. A pointed example of just how significant those three simple words are is the fact that we were enslaved in the first place because we lacked a knowledge of gunpowder and other munitions.
.
Another example that I often cite is the fact that when man arrived here on Earth he was completely vulnerable. He was a naked ape, but without the strength and agility of a true ape. He wasn't as big and powerful as the elephant, as ferocious as the lion, nor could he fly above danger like the eagle. The only thing that nature armed him with was the human mind, but as a result of developing his mind, he can now build machines that can crush the most powerful elephant, victimize the most ferocious lion, and fly far beyond the domain of the most dedicated eagle - in fact, he's not only gained dominion over this world, but he's gone on to visit others.
.
The above facts haven't been lost on a sizeable segment of the Black community. So as we quietly watch the many virulent racists continue to delight in their stupidity, we smile, because we recognize that ignorance is only bliss until reality sets in.

A NOTE TO A "LEARNED" BIGOT
 .
To Professor Claude Henschel and All Other Social Bigots - You’re Only Fooling Yourselves

Claude, you said,
.
"He [President Obama] has actually caused me not just to totally dislike him and disrespect his leadership abilities, but now, because of him, I have the same feelings about Muslims."
.
First, you and your GOP counterparts aren’t fooling anybody. You don’t disrespect President Obama’s leadership. In fact, just the reverse is true - you are shocked, awed, and severely dismayed over how much more competent and intelligent this Black president is over any White man you’ve ever known. It’s causing you to struggle through a severe case of cognitive dissonance, because it forces a reality down your throat that you’d rather die than accept - that there’s nothing special about being born White. Now, that isn’t to say that there aren’t many very special, and brilliant, White men and women, but they didn't get that way by virtue of being born White. They got that way through a personal investment that they made in themselves.
.
Secondly, President Obama is not responsible for you’re distaste for Muslims. You were probably a bigot long before Barack Obama was born. So don’t try to lay your backward-thinking, bigoted attitudes at Barack Obama’s feet. You’re a bigot because you’re ignorant, the poster child for profound mediocrity, and your self-esteem requires you to desperately hang on to your delusional belief system in order to maintain any sense of significance whatsoever.
.
So again, what you - and the entire wing-nut fringe of the GOP - actually dislike about Obama's leadership is that he causes you to experience cognitive dissonance. All your life you’ve been able to delude yourself into believing that regardless to how drenched in mediocrity you might be, you could always take comfort in the fact that you are superior to Black people. But now, these ‘uppity’ Black people like Barack Obama - and myself, by the way - have come along and thrown a pie in the face of your delusions of grandeur. Don't you realize that there are literally millions of us out here who KNOW how miserable that makes people of your ilk feel? And we're getting a very special kind of joy out of watching it.
.
And Claude, now that we’re having this discussion, I want to take this opportunity to express my personal gratitude to you and all the people like you. Because you people literally created me, and many more Black people just like me, who are quietly investing in themselves and growing in cocoons all across this nation. Due to your constant need to validate and reinforce your delusion of superiority, you've indulged in a studied propensity to constantly focus on the most dysfunctional 10 to 15% of the people in the Black community, and you’ve totally ignored the very people that you should have been watching - the highly functional 85% of Black people - and that, has been a grievous error on your part, an error that Barack Obama’s appearance on the scene - seemingly from out of nowhere - clearly demonstrates.
.
Oh, wait a minute! You didn’t think Barack Obama was an aberration, did you? Not hardly, buddy. There are tens of thousands of Black people across this country who are capable of wearing your ass out - intellectually, professionally, or in any other way you choose to compete. In fact, every Black person that's considered your professional peer is actually, more often than not, your superior, because they've been forced to spot you 100 yards and run against you in lead boots, yet, they've still managed to remain competitive. Yes, I've said it before, but I can't say it too often, because many of us who are a part of this silent Black majority have prepared our entire lives for this marathon. Personally, I can assure you that I have invested in myself with a fierce and dedicated determination for my entire adult life to make you feel just like you're feeling right now, and believe me, it feels wonderful - it's right up there with sex.
.
So let there be no doubt about it, Barack Obama is getting a very special kind of joy out of watching all you bigots struggle with your self-esteem. He's taking your unfounded delusions of superiority and beating you about the head with them, just like I do with you routinely, professor.
.
So don't you think for a moment that your jumping up-and-down about what you allege is   Obama's incompetence is fooling anybody in America but yourself, as evidenced by the last election. We all know what's really going on - including many White people. You're in absolute misery, and we're taking great pleasure in watching your agony, because we know why you're ACTUALLY screaming. You're not screaming over Obama's alleged corruption or incompetence; you're screaming in agony over having the hell beat out of you with your own bat, and it's an absolutely exhilarating thing to watch.
.
FACTS THE GOP DOESN'T WANT AMERICA TO KNOW ABOUT BLACK PEOPLE -
WE'RE NO DIFFERENT THAN YOU
.
The vast majority of Black people in this country are middle class or above. African Americans are the second largest consumer group in America with a combined buying power of over $892 billion currently and likely over $1.1 trillion by 2012. In 2002 African American owned businesses accounted for 1.2 million of the US's 23 million businesses, and 47% of Africans Americans own their own homes. - U.S. Census Bureau.
HOWLING WINDS

As I watched my son, dapper as they come, walk down our walkway and into manhood,
what I remember most was the howling winds. I'd seen such winds before, but never like this - my old foe was pulling up trees by the roots,
.
So I watched, but I watched alone.
.
As the winds raged on and the mighty palms bowed, a single leaf from our Winter-bare ficus tree
held tough against the ferocious storm. It fought valiantly against the angry gale, as though hanging tough Just to witness the changing of the guard,
.
So I stood, but I stood alone.
.
Like that solitary leaf, all my life I've fought the ferocious winds, and now they’ve returned, this mighty foe, poised to seize the hopes and dreams of my only son,
.
So I cringed, but I cringed alone.
.
Then, posterity glanced back, squared its shoulders, and beat back hopelessness as it
trudged through fields of ivy. Then it spread its wings and rode those howling winds
over yonder mountaintop,
.
So I wept, but I wept with a crowd . . .

MEMORANDUM FOR OFFICER TRAINING SCHOOL SELECTION COMMITTEE

FROM: 92 SFS/SFO
2 E. ARNOLD STREET
FAIRCHILD AFB, WA 99011

SUBJECT: Recommendation for Staff Sergeant Eric L. Wattree

1. I wholeheartedly concur with Staff Sergeant Wattree’s request to attend Officer Training School. He represents the enlisted ranks with the highest standard and will bring that dedication and professionalism to the officer corps.

2. Eric continues to lead a stellar military career; his enlisted performance reports speak for themselves. His leadership and experience, especially in contingency environments, remains a vital asset to our unit and wing. As one of my primary Phoenix Raven team leaders, he’s propelled to the forefront of all major deployments throughout the world. He’s repeatedly secured aircraft and crews, supporting a wide variety of missions, in the most austere and terrorist-ridden environments where security is severely inadequate. The diversity of these missions never limited SSgt Wattree’s capacity to adapt to each situation. For this reason, Eric was selected as our 2000 Outstanding Phoenix Raven Member of the Year and the 2001 Air Force Reserve Component Airman of the Year for the 92d Security Forces Squadron.

3. Whether operating under peacetime or contingency operations, Eric easily assumes control and tackles every situation with meticulous tenacity, a quality highly desired in our Air Force officers. Requested by name, Sergeant Wattree, provided security for presidential Banner missions throughout Greece, Peru and Viet Nam. While deployed to Afghanistan, he flew numerous combat missions in our nation’s pursuit to eradicate terrorism through Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. Additionally, he provided round-the-clock force protection for aircraft in other high-threat environments including Uzbekistan, Pakistan and Oman.

4. Sergeant Wattree motivated his personnel during the worst conditions and raised the level of esprit de corps to integrate personnel from other Air Force specialties into a cohesive team. His leadership, integrity and devotion to our Air Force play an integral part in our future leadership. Eric has what it takes to become a commissioned officer and earns my full support to attend Officer Training School.

I NOW STAND FIRM
.
I now stand firm. My conviction of the power of knowledge is the platform upon which my podium rests. I stand firm, strong, and now free. Free of anger. Free of self-delusion. Free of the folly of empty vanity, and free of the pernicious bane of meaningless pride without substance.
.
I stand free to look upon the eyes of other men, reflecting dignity over sorrow, and accomplishment over pain; I stand with a burning passion, fueled by the very flame that forged ancestral shackles, with a deep sense of pride and a pride that flows deep.
.
I now stand erect. The steel that once degraded my father, that chained him in bondage to this bitter Earth, now reinforce my character, making me more, rather than less; and the blood and sweat that once drenched his brow, now rage with resolve and a sense of purpose within my burning breast.
.
I now stand as a new being - neither simply African, nor simply American, but a hybrid forced to transcend the sum of my parts; no longer simply African, since being torn away from the African motherland to suffer and toil in the fields of America, and more than simply American, after being forced to be more than simply American just to survive within the bowels of this prosperous land.
.
Thus, I stand now armed - armed with the wisdom of deprivation, the courage of my conviction, and a deep conviction of my courage; and fortified - with the confidence of a survivor, the empowerment of knowledge, and a ravishing hunger for greatness.
.
I now stand the product of love, struggle, and sacrifice; a witness to man's inhumanity to man, and a monument to the hopes and dreams of a million slaves.
.
I now stand embraced by my creator, as God now smiles upon my people.
.
Yes, I Now Stand Firm.
Firm, Black, and Free.
*
So I'd like all of you "racially superior" bigots out there to consider this a teaching moment and take special note of the bludgeoning below.  You're severely out-classed - not because you're White, but because you're White and failed to prepare yourself for reality.

.
In closing, I'd just like to take this opportunity to inform all the Professor Henschels out there that, no, as much as you might want to believe it, we're not all out here kickin' back saggin' and gettin' our heads bad - not by a long shot. And if you think President Obama is formidable - of course, you're not going to admit it, but we know you do; that's why you hate him so much - but just wait until you have to deal with group that's currently coming up. Obama became formidable through having to deal with the adversity of the Black experience, but the group that's coming up now were raised to deal with people like you - and as they're doing so, enjoy the challenge. So the days of simply claiming that you're superior are rapidly coming to an end.  In the very near future, you're going to have to prove it . . .  and frankly, I don't think you can.
.
Now go on and vent. Call we a crazy coon. I love it, because it assures me that you're choosing to remain delusional.  I also love it because I know it's not gonna change a thing.
