TRUMP SLOWING CORONAVIRUS TESTING IN AN ATTEMPT TO HIDE INCOMPETENCE

TRUMP SLOWING CORONAVIRUS TESTING IN AN ATTEMPT TO HIDE INCOMPETENCE

This is my opus to Donald Trump. It pretty much says it all about this man. It addresses his incompetent response to the pandemic, his failure to protect the lives of our troops from the Russians, his shady to outright criminal character, and how it negatively impacts the nation.

We’ve never seen a President like this one before, and hopefully, we’ll never see one like him again. He’s selfish, incompetent, and completely willing to conspire with the Russians – or any other country - to promote his own interests. With Trump, America doesn’t matter. The only thing that matters for Trump, is Donald J. Trump himself.

I didn’t write this piece for any personal benefit or recognition; I wrote it to plant a seed, and in the hope that other writers will find something of value in it to build upon. So if you’re a writer, don’t worry about attribution, just take whatever you find of value and forge it into your own. There are some issues important enough to put our self-interests aside and work on as a group. I think this is one of them. So let’s make this a group effort, authored by us all. As writers, we have a responsibility to help the American people understand what we’re dealing with here. Let us do that, for the sake of the country, and for the sake of all those who died to preserve this great experiment. Let us spread the word, and educate the people.

I’ve always said that Donald Trump was a completely self-absorbed lunatic, and now he’s laid absolute proof of that fact at our feet. He recently said the following:
.
"I think we put ourselves at a disadvantage. I told my people. I said we've gotten so good at testing - number one we have the best tests, number two we have the most tests - we catch much more than any other nation. So you hear about all these cases. So instead of doing 25 million cases, let's say we did 10 million tests we'd look like we're doing much better, cuz we'd have far fewer cases."
.
Yeah, and it would also coverup the piss-poor and incompetent job you're doing in managing the crisis. Trump is known for avoiding responsibility. Now he's casually asking us to sacrifice our lives to help him cover up his own incompetence, and in spite of the fact that he's clearly stating - out in the open! - that optics is more important than American lives, a few idiots are showing up at his rallies to do just that.
.
This is not just your garden variety ignorance we're talking about here - this is world-class stupidity. We're in the midst of a worldwide pandemic, and instead of being solely focused on saving lives, the President of the United States is focused on how finding out who has the disease, and how it's being spread, is making him  look bad.
.
With over 120,000 Americans dead, and the rate of deaths still climbing, no other politician would even think of slowing down the rate of testing, and even if they were so mindlessly self-absorbed that they did think about it, they certainly wouldn’t say it out loud on national television. But that’s one of Trump’s shortcomings, he can’t think without moving his lips. That’s why he can’t carryout a plan of any kind, because he can’t prevent himself from going on Twitter and telling the world about it. That's just his nature. He's so insecure, and so desperately in need of admiration that he wants the world to know that every thought that comes out of the administration comes from him. But unfortunately, most of them are stupid and have to be walked back immediately thereafter.
.
In addition, every time he finds someone in his administration who is actually competent, he's so insecure that he fires them immediately, because he can't afford to have their excellence stand in contrast to his stupidity. Trump's gross insecurity causes him to see mere competence as an affront to him, because he sees it as an attempt to overshadow him. He considers simple competence in others as an attempt to mock him. Trump is a man who is in a constant struggle to hide his inadequacies. As a result, he has an administration full of idiots, and the only people who can possibly support such a man, or administration, are other idiots.
.
Trump is also transparent. Whatever he accuses his opponent of doing, or whenever something is weighing heavily on his mind, you can bet your home on the fact that he's going to find away of spewing it all over Twitter. That allows us to always know exactly what he's thinking. That’s how we should have known that his health was deteriorating. When he accused Joe Biden of becoming old and feeble, that should have immediately told us that Trump was having some sort of health issue, long before it became clear that he couldn’t lift a glass of water or walk down a ramp.
.
Any close observer of Trump knows that when Trump becomes fixated on an issue, he’s much too much of an idiot to prevent himself from telegraphing what’s weighing on his mind to the world. That's why when he started calling Hillary Clinton "Crooked Hillary", that should have alerted us that he was engaged in some kind of nefarious activity, and now that he's started accusing Barack Obama of treason, that tells us that he's worried about the revelations in John Bolton's book or something much more serious. So all we have to do is listen to Trump, and he'll tell us everything we need to know about he's up to.
Michael McFaul, a former ambassador to Russia and a professor of political science at Stanford University, said, “I hope the American people will be as outraged as I am over Trump’s complacency. After he knew about these Putin-ordered contracts to kill US soldiers, Trump invited Putin to the G7.”
.
And John Weaver, a Republican political consultant who helped found the anti-Trump Lincoln Project group, also expressed outrage, tweeting, “Trump knew Russia was paying bounties on the lives of American servicemen in Afghanistan. He took no action against Putin. Instead, @realDonaldTrump REWARDED Putin by trying to insert Russia back into the G-7. And, [if that was] not enough, withdrawing 25,000 American troops from Germany.”
In response to the accusation, Trump tweeted, "Nobody briefed or told me, @VP Pence, or Chief of Staff @MarkMeadows about the so-called attacks on our troops in Afghanistan by Russians, as reported through an 'anonymous source' by the Fake News @nytimes. Everybody is denying it & there have not been many attacks on us....."
.
In response to Trump's tweet, the mere fact that he claims not to have been aware of something as threatening to our troops, and the nation, as that, is clear evidence of gross incompetence in itself. What else is going on in the world while he's playing golf that he doesn't know about?  On the other hand, if he did know about it and still cuddled up to Putin, it's treason, so either way, it's unacceptable. So there's no plausible way to lie his way out of this one.
.
SO WHY WOULD TRUMP DO THESE THINGS?

The answer as to why Trump would be so forgiving of Russian aggression is quite simple –
after going into bankruptcy 6 times, the Russians came to Trump's rescue when American banks wouldn't touch him, and chances are, even now he's only keeping his head above water because Russian oligarchs are using his name and businesses to launder stolen money. That explains why he's so desperate to keep his finances hidden.
.

Foreign Policy Magazine (fp.com) reported, “Rep. Adam Schiff indicated that ‘We’re going to be looking at the issue of possible money laundering by the Trump Organization, and Deutsche Bank is one obvious place to start,’ he said. A 2017 report by Reuters, citing public documents, interviews and corporate records, also found that at least 63 Russians or people with Russian addresses bought nearly $100 million worth of property in seven Trump-branded Florida luxury buildings.”

In addition, Trump repeatedly lied to the American people all through the 2016 election campaign. He repeatedly claimed that, "I have no business dealings in Russia." But we now know that all while he was making that claim to the American people, he was in deep negotiations with the Russians to build a Trump Tower in Moscow. He even offered Vladimir Putin a $50 million penthouse apartment in the tower. But there was a problem - the Russian bank, VTB, that was lined up to finance the deal was under U.S. sanctions, which blocked them from taking part in the deal. Could that be why Trump has gone out of his way to remove Russian sanctions?
.
It is now clear that everything Trump does or says is designed to promote his own private interests and provide comfort to Vladimir Putin and the Russians, and Rudy Giuliani, his own attorney, knows it. That’s why when Trump’s own staff and American foreign service professionals started spilling the beans in the Congressional Impeachment Hearings, Giuliani said, “If I disappear I have an insurance policy. All of the documents on the Bidens are going to be released”. That seems to indicate that Giuliani is not only in fear of legal exposure, but for his very life, and he has good reason to be concerned.

TRUMP KNEW PUTIN PLACED BOUNTY ON THE  HEADS OF UNITED STATES TROOPS AND INVITED PUTIN TO G7

Michael McFaul, a former ambassador to Russia and a professor of political science at Stanford University, said: “I hope the American people will be as outraged as I am over Trump’s complacency. After he knew about these Putin-ordered contracts to kill US soldiers, Trump invited Putin to the G7.”

John Weaver, a Republican political consultant who helped found the anti-Trump Lincoln Project group, also expressed outrage, tweeting, “Trump knew Russia was paying bounties on the lives of American servicemen in Afghanistan. He took no action against Putin. Instead, @realDonaldTrump REWARDED Putin by trying to insert Russia back into the G-7. And, not enough, withdrawing 25,000 American troops from Germany.” Donald Trump doesn't care anything about our troops. He's just using our troops as props just like he used the Bible in front of the church. If Trump cared anything about either our troops, or the military, he wouldn't have dodged the draft when he had a chance to serve. Dodging the military is a Trump family tradition.
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2020/jun/27/russia-offered-bounties-afghanistan-militants-killing-us-soldiers-report-outrage
.
Donald's problem dates back to the way he was raised. As the son of a multi-millionaire he was always given everything, and he never had to struggle to maintain his place in line. As a result, it was never necessary for Donald to have to develop any character or intellect like most of us. In order for the average person to survive they have to cultivate their character which enables them to get along with others, and also develop their intellectual resources which allows them to survive in a competitive world. But not Trump. Since Donald was given everything, he never had to develop those resources, and as a result, he’s become a geriatric child with the inner resources of an 8-year-old.
.
So the knowledge that most of us take for granted - or what most of us refer to as common sense - is completely foreign to Trump. That’s why we don’t understand him. Many of us  assume that he’s different due to some esoteric billionaire's knowledge that he possesses that the rest of us are not privy to. But that’s not it at all. He’s just stupid, and he's very easy to understand. All you have to do to understand Donald's behavior is to assess his actions like you would the behavior of an 8-year-old. If you do that, his motivations become crystal clear.
.
Vox.com reported Yuval Levin, director of Social, Cultural, and Constitutional Studies at the conservative American Enterprise Institute, as saying of Donald Trump that “Governing has been so little on the mind of this administration from the very beginning that it’s created a bizarre, extraordinary situation. The president thinks so much about what he’s doing in terms of the show he’s putting on that there’s been very little attention paid to how the government is functioning.”
.
And Vox goes on to point out that "
Trump has spent the past three years and 158 days playing president on TV and social media. But he has not spent that time doing the job of the president. A strong economy that carried over from Barack Obama’s presidency hid Trump’s dereliction of duties. But then a crisis came, and presidential leadership was needed, and the American people saw there was no plan, and functionally no president."
.
Take the comment Trump made concerning the Coronavirus testing, for example. Based on his thinking, if we stop testing for the virus we won’t have as many cases – thus, out of sight, out of mind. That’s the simplistic thinking of a child. He’s not considering the consequences of allowing the virus to roar through the population unchecked, all he’s thinking about is the solution that suits his purpose for the moment – and Trump only lives from moment to moment, so he never considers consequences. It is exactly ignorance, cluelessness, and his total irresponsibility that makes Trump the most dangerous man who has ever stepped into the White House.
.
And further, Trump doesn’t give a damn about either America, democracy, or the American people, as he’s clearly demonstrating by placing his re-election above thousands of American lives. In fact, he’s placing his bet on the fact that his base is more bigoted than they are patriotic. The fact is, it's only their bigotry and hatred that makes them of value to him. That's why he's constantly stirring them up. But with the exception of their bigotry, trump doesn't share any of their political ideals. The fact is, he detests his undereducated base. He thinks of them as the great unwashed, as ignorant trailer trash - it's just that they're useful trailer trash.
.
Trump’s only political philosophy is helping Trump. He cares more about Russia than he does his supporters, because Russia can do more for him. He’s just using his supporters to give himself a political power base, because that's what he does, use people. That's what allows him to turn on his former allies on a dime the minute they're no longer useful to him.
.
According to Wikipedia, “Trump registered as a Republican in Manhattan in 1987 and since that time has changed his party affiliation five times. In 1999, Trump changed his party affiliation to the Independence Party of New York. In August 2001, Trump changed his party affiliation to Democratic. In September 2009, Trump changed his party affiliation back to the Republican Party. In December 2011, Trump changed to "no party affiliation" (independent). In April 2012, Trump again returned to the Republican Party.”
So the bottom line is, Trump is willing to align himself with anyone who's of use to him, and at this point that means ANYONE, including the Russians.
.
Trump is losing over a million dollars a day in his personal businesses due to the national shutdown, and the shutdown is also having a negative impact on the overall economy, which he was depending on for re-election in November. And since being President is the only thing keeping him out of prison, Trump doesn't give not one bit of a damn about America. All he’s concerned about is opening the country back up, regardless of how many people have to die.

Trump is proving with his every act that he's only concerned about one thing - what he’s always been concerned about – Donald Trump. That’s why he’s so desperate that he’s trying to get America to ingest Lysol. That alone represents the desperation of an absolute lunatic. But Trump's willingness to do ANYTHING to improve his personal situation, including killing a few thousand American citizens, makes him a very dangerous man. And clear evidence that those are the facts was made clear when - even though he was a  draft dodger - he made the disgustingly self-serving decision to place the lives of West Point graduates in needless jeopardy just so he could give a speech and get a photo op with the military.
.
But just as horrifying as the acts themselves is the fact that he seems to have lost the simple judgment to even try to hide his blatant hypocrisy and lack of concern for the American people. That speaks directly to his mental stability. What might he do in desperation if he loses the November election? I just hope our military and intelligence services have a contingency plan in place to handle such an eventuality.

AMERICA'S CONSTITUTIONAL CRISIS IS AT HAND

Trump is losing it. He’s threatening to unleash violence against peaceful demonstrators. He knows that he’s losing the country, so he’s resorting to his natural tendency to be nasty, petty, and vindictive. He’s angry because he thought America belonged to him. He’s finding out the hard way that it doesn’t, and it’s humiliating his fragile and immature ego.

http://wattree.blogspot.com/2018/11/americas-constitutional-crisis-is-at.html

And just in case some of you think this is exaggeration or an exercise in hyperbole, here’s what Trump had to say in a private conference call with the nation's governors:
.
Trump told the nation’s governors during a recent teleconference that they should ‘seriously consider’ reopening their schools and CONFIRM his suggestion at the evening news conference, noting the virus doesn't impact young people as badly. . . “I think it would be a good thing. Because as you see coming in terms of what this vicious virus goes after, young people seem to do very well. Young people seem to do very well. So, I know that there are some governors that aren't necessarily ready to open up states, but they may be ready to open up school systems."
.
IN OTHER WORDS, HE WANTS TO USE OUR CHILDREN AS GUINEA PIGS!!!
.
The bottom line is, Donald Trump is one of the gravest threats this nation has ever faced, so we need to wake up and treat him as such. He’s not just eccentric, he’s dumb, greedy, and a raving lunatic.

ABOUT BLACK CREATIVITY

Beneath the Spin*Eric L. Wattree

EXCELLENCE IS THE KEY TO BLACK EQUALITY

ABOUT BLACK CREATIVITY

Thank you, Cartrell, for both, your kind words, and for inspiring this article. I’m truly flattered by your response to my comments, but complete honesty demands that I reluctantly admit that I'm no one special, nor am I a person of exceptional intelligence. The fact is, in terms of intelligence, when I was growing up I was somewhere around the middle of the pack among my friends. I just got lucky in stumbling upon something that I enjoyed doing, so I put a lot of effort into it. But the truth is, writing and assessing reality are the only two things in life that I do relatively well, so those are the things in which I've devoted my life. I specialize in observing life, and writing about what I've observed. I enjoy that like many men enjoy watching the Super Bowl.
.
Due to that passion I’ve observed many young Black people who truly are brilliant, and who have a trove of natural abilities that are much more pronounced than my own, and I'm proud to say that many of my own children are among them. So I’ve dedicated my life to encouraging these young people to purposely focus on what I only stumbled upon by accident. I’m on a constant mission to try to get them to see what I see, because many of these young people are doing just the opposite of what they should be doing. These exceptionally gifted young people should be singularly focused on developing their intellect instead of wasting their time trying to fit-in with the crowd. They should be striving to become unique and independent thinkers, instead of trying to be one of the many, because "exceptional" means just that - different from most.
.
I try to get them to understand that Black people don’t have to go hat-in-hand begging the White man for a blue-collar job. If they’d just take the time to develop their unique skills, they could make those skills marketable and sought-after. I've been relatively successful in that regard when it comes to my own children and grandchildren, so now I've focused my attention on the Black community as a whole.
.
I learned to do legal research and brief writing, for example, and that allowed me to make a killing by simply doing what I love most, writing. Yeah, I had a 9-to-5, but only so I would have a guaranteed income. But on the side I did legal research and brief writing for attorneys, and as a result, my son and daughter never had to want for a thing throughout their entire childhood. I charged the attorneys a third of their fees to work on a case – and they were happy to give it to me, because, as a former hood rat, I understood the key to winning cases, something they didn't always learn in law school.
.
While the various law schools taught them to be competent in interpreting the law, the key to winning legal cases is grounded in psychology. Instead of going out of your way to try to sound learned and scholarly, you should stay away from dry legalese whenever possible and focus on making the judge as upset with the opposition as you are.
.
I loved having that kind of impact on people. It gave me a sense of power. It’s like being a screenwriter, but instead of writing fiction, you're using factual information as the basis for your plot, and instead of manipulating fictional characters, you're having an impact on the lives of real people. By using that technique - along with solid legal research and a little hyperbole and gaslighting - in many cases the judge would walk into the courtroom as mad at the other side as I was. In fact, in many cases when the opposition’s attorney would read the brief, that alone, would cause them to want to settle.

.
That’s why attorneys didn’t mind paying me, because they got two-thirds of the fees, and I did all the work. But I didn't mind that a bit. While I'd never tell them, I enjoyed it so much I would have almost done it for free, because it allowed me to walk out of that courtroom not merely saying, but knowing, "I am somebody!" It made me immune to feeling like I had to prove I was equal, and all my life, it's allowed me to deal with the White establishment eyeball-to-eyeball. When a bigot tries to talk down to me, I don't look down at my feet, I want to know who the hell he think he's talking to.
.
Then, one day I was in a courthouse lobby talking with an attorney and he said, "You know, you could start writing appellate briefs and you wouldn't even need us anymore, because you'd never have to step foot into a courtroom." And he was right, but they kept ringing my phone off the hook nevertheless. I did so much legal research that I knew more about the law than they did, so attorneys would call and consult with me over pending cases that I wasn’t even involved in. They'd call and give me the details of a case and ask, “So what do you think, Eric?” If I could answer them off the top of my head I would, but if I couldn't, I'd research the law and try to devise ways of outwitting it through loopholes, and using one law against another - it was like playing chess, the only game I've ever enjoyed. And you know where I learned to do that, and play chess - when I was a teenager going in and out of jail. So all knowledge is valuable, regardless of where it came from.
.
In my case, I just happened to stumble upon the joy and skill of writing and research while preparing for various court hearings, and I was highly motivated because I was constantly catching drug cases and it helped me to stay out of jail. It also benefited me when I was on the street, because it got me a lot of respect as a young, jailhouse lawyer. I knew every gang member in the city, regardless of what gang they were in. I’d party with one gang one night, and another on the other side of town the next. I was given a pass, because I wasn’t looked upon as a gangbanger. I was the guy who could help them beat a case - and quite often I did, and for free. Even many old-school criminals would come to me. So it wasn't only a hobby that I enjoyed, but one that's allowed me to reap huge benefits all of my life.
.
So I learned my most valuable skill in jail. As the son of a lifelong drug dealer I started getting arrested for selling the drugs I was stealing from him when I was 12 years old, and by the time I was 19 and caught my one and only case as an adult, the judge was so taken with my attempt to represent myself that he sent me into the Marine Corps instead of prison.
.
I'll never forget the look on the judge's face when he asked me where was my attorney and I told him, "If it pleases the court, Your Honor, I'd like permission to appear Pro Per (Propria Persona - Latin for represent myself). When I look back on it I have to laugh at my arrogance. Here's this 19-year-old hood rat with the audacity to try to speak Latin to the court - but I was dead-serious - you would have thought I was Perry Mason. The judge obviously thought it was some kind of joke, but he allowed me to proceed. To his complete surprise, however, I mounted one hell of a defense, but it was based entirely on technicalities in the law. I knew I was headed for the joint, so I already had my toothbrush with me, but I thought, "What the hell," I'll give it a shot.
.
I’d been busted dead-bang with a entire briefcase filled with hard drugs - and I mean HARD drugs. So I knew that fact alone was next to impossible to overcome without a huge violation of my civil rights. But unfortunately - for me - the particular cops who busted me were quite professional in the way they went about doing their job, so I could only come up with minor violations of procedure, but nothing serious enough to get the case thrown out. So I was convicted, just as I figured I'd be.

.
But when the case was over the judge called a short recess and took me into his chambers. I was prepared for a lecture on how I had thrown away my life, but instead, he offered me a proposition. He was a former Marine Corps office, so he told me that if I would agree to go into the military, he would hold my conviction in abeyance, and if I came out with an Honorable Discharge, he would throw out the conviction. Of course, I jumped at the deal, because that meant I could go home and get high instead of going back to the county jail, because I didn't have a penny for bail money to get me on the street until my sentencing date. So when I walked out of the court onto the streets of downtown Los Angeles I wanted to kiss the ground, because I hadn't planned on seeing the streets again without handcuffs for, at the very least, 5 years. So by developing just one simple skill, the skill of writing, I changed my entire life. It not only kept me out of prison, but exposed me to experiences in life that I otherwise never would have known.
.
But what I didn't know was my good fortune was just beginning. The first thing they do when you enter the Marine Corps is test you, and through those battery of tests they identified my predisposition and love for the written word, so they sent me to the Army/Navy Academy to further develop it. Then shortly thereafter, a naval captain (a colonel in the Marine Corps) who was my instructor, got me a job with my battalion commander, and later I became an aide to the Commanding General of Camp Pendleton.

.
The general and I became as close as father and son, and his senior officers treated me as such. E
verything that came out of his office, I wrote - including their fitness reports, so the officers used to rely on me for a heads-up on what was coming down the pike. The General was also a classical pianist, and I played saxophone and was heavily into jazz. So on the weekends the General and I would drink his scotch, talk about my life, his life, and listen to music. I introduced him to the music of Bud Powell, Thelonious Monk, and Phineas Newborn Jr., and it really turned him out. He also setup private living quarters for me in a room in the rear of the main base library so I could work through the middle of the night without being disturbed, and I lived like a king. I also learned a lot from him, so when I got out of the Marine Corps and went to college, I damn near slept through it - and I made extra money writing term papers in the process.
.
So, again, while I’m far from brilliant, and I don’t have many other skills, writing has literally been a lifesaver for me, and it exposed me to many experiences that I ordinarily wouldn't have had. In addition, it's allowed me to take full advantage of what mind I do have.
Also, by the way, when I got out of the Corps I went before that very same judge who had sent me in (again, in Pro Per), and he expunged my entire criminal record, juvenile and all. So today, I could run for Pope of the Catholic Church.
.
Writing also forced me to organize my thinking, pay attention to detail, and become a critical thinker. That helped me tremendously with my education, because the minute they tried to feed me bullshit – and many educators are filled with it – a red flag would immediately go up, and I’d think, "Wait a minute! That doesn’t make sense." From that, I learned to always do my own research, and I also learn to never give priority to anyone else’s ability to think over my own – no matter who it was, or how many letters they had behind their name. While we should always be open to consuming new knowledge, we should always connect the dot and assess the relevance of that knowledge, for ourselves.
.
That came in very handy when they tried to feed me bullshit about how wonderful the White man was. That’s all an illusion that the White establishment tries to convince us to embrace. While the White man has power in this society, he's far from invincible – I proved that by only losing one case in 20 years. But that said, my life experience and common sense has also taught me that you can't profile any entire group of people. You have to assess each individual as an individual. So when I say, "The White man", I don't mean all White men, that's simply ghetto shorthand for "The White establishment". We must also remember that every Black man is not Barack Obama, and every White man is not the Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan.

.
Writing and research also helped me to recognize that knowledge is free. As a result, when I got married and had kids, the first thing I did was taught both my son, and daughter to write (or at least, exposed them to it) and they taught all 5 of my grandkids. I’ve gone out of my way to see to it that all of my kids are effective writers, because writing is nothing short of thinking on paper.
.
Thus, knowing my attitude toward writing, when my son was in high school he came home very excited about getting an “A” on a term paper. He couldn’t wait to show it to me. But when I looked at it, I immediately recognized that it wasn’t an “A” paper, and I told him as much. My wife and daughter were livid over what they referred to as my "gross insensitivity". They felt that I had thrown ice water on his excitement, and I was discouraging him. But he was about to go to college, so I felt that it was better for me to tell him, and then help him with it, than to just stroke his ego and let some college professor trash him while I was thousands of miles away. And he understood that, because I started by telling him what was excellent about his writing.
.
And much of the paper was indeed excellent. It was very well written. That’s obviously what his teacher had graded him on, it’s flow. But he had failed to substantiate many of his assertions, and that’s what I had a problem with. When it came to grammar and style, he had that down. The paper read beautifully, but writing is about much more than just sounding pretty on paper (that’s what I’m also telling his son, and my grandson, Eli, who’s also an excellent writer). Writing is about making an effective point. So what Eric had to learn was very simple - whenever he made an assertion, he should start backing it up in the following sentence, or no later than the following paragraph.
.
That’s all writing is about, making statements, and then backing them up with facts. A writer should try to drench the reader in so many facts that his point defies debate. Once he’s done that, then he can go back and make it sound pretty. If he’s only interested in beauty, he should write poetry and stay away from non-fiction. But Lil Eric reminded me of myself. I had the same problem. But when I was in college I had a Professor name Immel, and she told me in front of the entire class, “Eric, you say absolutely nothing more eloquently than any student I’ve ever had.” Then she started reading excerpts from my paper and asked, "What, are you such an authority that I'm just suppose to take your word on all this?" She embarrassed the hell out of me. So Lil Eric and I spent the next day reviewing his paper and driving that point home. He needed to understand that he was writing, not rapin’, and there’s a big difference.
.
A year or so Later, after he’d gone to college, my wife read one of his papers and said, “Eric, you’re gonna have to stop writing Lil Eric’s papers. That’s not doing him any good.” So I looked at the paper and said, “I didn’t write this, Eric did.” I was flattered that she couldn’t tell the difference, because by that time he had become a much better writer than myself. But she was greatly impressed, and I took that opportunity to throw back up in her face how she scolded me when he was in high school over his writing.
.
Still later, after he had become a federal agent, an FBI agent who he worked with, pointed out how well written one of his reports was. He then asked, “Who helped you with this?” Eric look at him and said, “What do you mean, who helped me with it? I wrote it myself.” And shortly after that, Eric was later given the job of reviewing the reports of all the agents before they went to the U.S. Attorney.

.
So the ability to write is a very valuable skill that can allow Black people to not only avoid having to depend on the White man to give them a blue-collar job as a handout, it can also provide them with a sense of personal confidence and independence - and there are many other skills just like it. I've only focused on writing because that just happens to be my thing. But Black people, have many talents and skills, and we have the intellectual creativity that will allow us to standout in life just like we do on Soul Train.
.
But unfortunately, this society works to discourage us, and it tends to pour all of its resources and dedication into convincing us that we're merely beasts of burden, and that it's "uppity" for us to think beyond that.  But don't buy into that bullshit. Be smart and develop your intellect. Then, instead of having to go beg the White man for a job, you can force him to come knocking on your door begging you to apply your intellect on his behalf.
.
Thus, whenever you consider your standing in society, you should always remember the following - what we dismissively referred to as soul is nothing less than creative brilliance straining to be unleashed, and it can be applied to any endeavor. We’ve just got to stop Twerkin’ long enough to recognize that fact.

WHY MANY BLACK PEOPLE FEEL A MORAL OBLIGATION TO FEIGN IGNORANCE

Beneath the Spin * Eric L. Wattree

WHY MANY BLACK PEOPLE FEEL A MORAL OBLIGATION TO FEIGN IGNORANCE
.
One of the major problems that we have in the Black community is a failure to recognize our own intellect. We fail to realize that having to deal with adversity from the time we wake up in the morning until the time we close our eyes at night has made us more, rather than less. We assume that everybody can see and understand everything that we can plainly see, and that our unique insight into reality is simply common knowledge. It's not. But as a result of this assumption, we tend to dismiss our intellect as routine, or average, and invest all of our intellectual potential into being cool and “soulful” instead of in math, science, philosophy and psychology. By making that erroneous assumption, we're severely short-changing ourselves, and the world. So it is a must that Black people start to take our intellectual development more seriously, and make knowledge the new “soul.”
.
What Black people call "soul" is actually creativity, and as any cognitive scientist can tell you, creativity is intelligence.  So if Black people are known for having soul, what that actually means is we're known for having intelligence.  What we call soul is actually intelligence seeping out through the cracks as a result of not being used for other pursuits. Thus, the reason that Black people seem to have so much "soul," is because we were prevented from expressing our knowledge, intellect, and creativity in any other way. Later, we developed a hostility toward knowledge as a direct result of our history of bondage in this country, but it's time for all of that to come to an end.
.
During slavery, house slaves, who were the more educated among us, had a tendency to look down their noses at field slaves. As a result, many of us developed a hostility toward knowledge. We tend to feel that Black people who take pride in their intellect, or who are dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge are trying to be White. So instead of embracing our intellect, many of us take great pains  to hide it.  That’s why Black intellectuals like Cornel West and Michael Eric Dyson are always trying to be so cool. Their attempt to be cool is actually an apology to the Black community for pursuing knowledge. Their actions tend to say, “Yeah, I’m a professor with multiple degrees, but that don’t mean I ain’t one of you.”  What that demonstrates is that they feel that they have a moral obligation to be ignorant in order to prove their Blackness.”  Young brothers on the street do the same thing when they say things like “What it be like?”,  “What it is?”, or  “Stay Woke.”  They know that’s bad English, but they feel an obligation to sound illiterate to prove their Blackness.
.
Another reason that many Black people feign ignorance is for survival. When my grandparents, who raised me while my mother was in college, would go back to visit Louisiana, they would never take me along. When I asked them why, my grandfather said, “Because you talk too much and you could get us killed.”  You see, many White folks are very insecure, so during the Jim Crow era, one of the fastest ways for a Black person to be lynched was to let White folks know that he was smarter or better than them in any way. And even now, the fastest way to lose a job is to let your boss know that you’re smarter than he is.
.
There are a lot of White folks who don’t appreciate Blacks having the audacity to be intelligent at all, because it’s a direct assault on their delusion of superiority, and in many cases that delusion reinforces their entire sense of self-esteem - "I might not be much, but at least I'm better than them." That's the primary reason they hate Barack Obama so intensely, because he's walking and breathing proof that their delusion of superiority is a myth.  Clear evidence of that can be seen in the fact that even though Obama has long since gone on about his business, Donald Trump is still trying to compete with him. You'd think that Barack was living next door. So old-school Black people had a rule of thumb that my grandfather laid out to me as a kid - “Never tell people everything you know.”
.
But it’s time to set those old traditions and attitudes aside.  The new paradigm in this country is not just about race, but class. The Donald Trumps of this world don’t care any more about poor and working class White people than they do Blacks and other minorities, and Black people have a unique understanding of White supremacy that other groups lack, so it has become our responsibility to educate them. If poor and working class Americans are going to survive in this country, it’s is imperative for Black people to step up to the plate, because  ironically, it’s going to fall on the shoulders of the Black community to first, educate itself, and then begin to educate others on how to deal with this greedy and self-serving beast - and we can do this.
.

An excellent example of who we actually are was reflected around the turn of the 20th Century, when you could find Black musicians sitting along the side of the road playing washboards, tubs, and anything they could put together that would make a sound. When people passed them by, including White musicians, they would simply smile, and sometimes even throw them a few pennies for the modest effort and industry that they displayed for even attempting to make real music with such crude instruments.
.
These simple music-makers were looked upon as "quaint". There was no hostility towards them at all, because they weren't a threat. After all, they couldn't possibly be a threat to the White musicians, since they could never hope to get any real instruction in music. Most of them couldn't even read their names, so why should anyone ever worry about them learning to read music? They had to struggle just to get through grade school, so what threat did they pose to White musicians who had access to the great music conservatories of the world?
.
WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THIS
YOUNG MAN WOULD BECOME ONE
OF OUR GREATEST PRESIDENTS?
Well, little did the world know that in the very near future, those simple little ragtag musicians with their makeshift instruments would morph into some of the greatest musicians the world has ever known. They would contribute one of the most important and harmonically complex forms of music to the world in the history of all mankind. Few knew at the time that one day Universities, musicologists, and music conservatories all over the world would struggle to understand the complexity of their musical genius, and even fewer could have guessed that many of these "quaint" musicians would someday become world renowned, and synonymous with their respective instruments–Louis Armstrong, Jellyroll Morton, Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, John Coltrane–just to mention a few.
.
As a point of irony, I began to typed "Duke" into Google, and the program completed my entry with a list that presented Duke Ellington before the Duke of Windsor. I'd say that says it all about the impact that the Black culture has had on this society, and the world.
But what we've got to recognize and address as a community is that creativity is not restricted to just music. The reason that the creative genius of Black people has been reflected more in music than in business, science, or technology is because it was an area where we didn't have to depend on the approval of others, and more importantly, we were rewarded in the community for its development. We've also got to recognize, as any scientist who studies cognition well knows, creativity is not stagnant–it has associative properties that allow it to be transferred from one endeavor to another. Thus, as Barack Obama has clearly demonstrated, Black people have much more to offer the world than a twelve bar blues.
.
But due to the racist history of this country, the intellectual capacity of Black people have always been grossly underestimated.  Thomas Jefferson said the following:
.
“They [Black people] are more generally gifted than the whites with accurate ears for tune and time, and they have been found capable of imagining a small catch. … Whether they will be equal to the composition of a more extensive run of melody, or of complicated harmony, is yet to be proved.”
.
Well, I wonder what Tom would have to say about this regarding our ability to be "equal to the composition of a more extensive run of melody?"
.

.
So just as the Black community has educated the world in music, it now falls upon us to educate them in generalized knowledge and common sense. Thus, we must educate ourselves against divisiveness and begin to recognize that our battle is not against THE White man, but against a particular GROUP of White men. If we fail to recognize that fact and continue to allow them to stir division among the working class - Blacks, Whites, Asians, Hispanics, gays and straights - we’ve already lost.  Because as Barack Obama pointed out, we must begin to recognize that “We are the change that we seek.”

GOD DIDN'T CREATE NO TALKIN' SNAKES, REGARDLESS TO WHAT PAT ROBERTSON SAYS

Beneath the Spin * Eric L. Wattree

GOD DIDN'T CREATE NO TALKIN' SNAKES, REGARDLESS TO WHAT PAT REBERTSON SAYS
.

I'm a firm believer in God - for intellectual reasons that I can defend. God is whatever force is responsible for creating nature, what we call reality, and the universe. But organized religion, with all of its walkin' dead men and talkin' snakes is THE most evil force on this planet. It's more responsible for all the hatred, murder, mayhem, wars, bigotry, ignorance and greed than any other force on Earth - and when I say religion, I mean ALL of them!!!  Religion is what terrorism is all about.  Would a loving god bestow that upon humanity?  I don’t think so.
.
NOBODY can speak for God, and anyone who believes that ANY man - including Jesus - can, is a damn fool. Jesus didn't "die for your sins"; he died just like any other man, because he was stabbed. If he’d been God - or even the son of God - when they stabbed him he would have just laughed at ‘em. But since Christians were claiming he was "the son of God," they had to find a reason to justify how he could be killed, so they came up with this nonsense. It’s also a loophole that allows Christians to think they can cut people’s throats all week and then pray for forgiveness on Sunday and think they can erase what they’ve done. Well, you can forget it. You may be fooling yourself, but you’re not fooling God. If you commit a sin, it’s with you forever, regardless to what you do - and that includes being dipped in water and trying to pray it away.
.
So if you're waiting around for Jesus to come back and "save" you, you can forget that as well. Dead men don’t come back. That’s why God blessed you with a mind, so you could handle your own problems. Believing in the Bible and believing in God are two different things. To believe in the Bible is to believe in the word of man - and ignorant, self-serving, and superstitious men at that - to believe in God, is to believe in the common sense that God bestowed upon you. So to go around worshiping man’s nonsense is the source of your misery, not your salvation.  If God blesses those he loves, he must love White folks much more than he does Black people.  So wake up! God helps those who help themselves.  That’s why your preacher has a much bigger house than you do - and he worked a whole lot less to get it.
.
There are only three commandments, and you don't have to read a user's manual to find them any more than birds need a calendar and a map to know when to fly south - God instilled them in you when he created you:
1). Live the best life you can.
2). Help others whenever you can.
3). Mind your own business.
That came directly from God.  It’s called common sense.
.
IGNORANCE IS A SIN (REPRISE)
.
When I saw all of the "Amens" on a Black site lauding Christian dogma I was absolutely disgusted.  No wonder Black people are in such bad shape. We've been completely brainwashed, and it makes me sick to my stomach to see so many Black people so passionately embracing the White establishment’s version of God and what they claim  he wants.  How do they know what God wants!!!?  The fact is, they don’t.  All they know is what they want, and that’s to maintain the status quo, with White folks on the top and unchallenged as God’s “favorite” people - and I want to make it clear that when I say "White people," I'm not referring to all White people, I'm referring to the White establishment.  But Black people, and America as a whole, have been convinced to believe in walkin' dead men and talkin’ snakes in order to maintain that agenda.  They taught us that nonsense from birth so we casually accept it and never question it, but what we were taught is no different, and just as ridiculous, as Voodoo.  So if you dismiss Voodoo as laughably ridiculous, take a moment to think about the Christian belief in talkin' snakes.  How are they any different?
.
FIND EARTH
And we're just looking in one direction

of one galaxy in a universe that's filled with
hundreds of billions of them just like it.
No, I'm not a fanatical fool. I was raised a Christian, and I remain a firm believer in God, but I'm not an idiot.  I believe in God for rational  reasons, so I have absolutely no need for the dogma, or mindless sermonizing of self-serving and backward-thinking men to justify that belief. God is whatever entity, being, or force that is responsible for setting the universe, nature, or what we refer to as reality into motion - period.  So it's the height of human arrogance to think that with our feeble and limited mentality that we're capable of even comprehending the mere concept of God, and much less know what's on his, her, or its mind.  Yet we have these arrogant men struttin'  around in fancy robes every Sunday as though they're experts.  What they actually are, are either con men, or delusional.
.
Our galaxy alone is over 100,000 light years across, and has over 200 billion stars that are light years apart - and there's over 10 TRILLION galaxies in the universe just like it.  If you go and look out at the night sky (as I do every night as part of my personal spirituality) some of the light you see, just from stars near by, left its respective stars traveling through time and space at 186,000 MILES PER SECOND (7 1/2 times around the Earth in one second), over 100,000 years before Jesus was born just to hit your eyeball tonight, and our galaxy is just a dust particle in the universe.  Again, there are thousands of billions of galaxies just like it, and billions of times more distant, and the universe is still expanding in every direction at the speed of light. There are a billion times more galaxies in the universe than there are grains of sand on every beach, desert, and beneath the sea - and yet, man claims to know what's on God's mind!!!?  That's utterly ridiculous.
.
In spite of man's narcissistic assumption, it's all but mathematically impossible for mankind to be the only sentient beings in the universe.  Stephen Hawking (the Albert Einstein of our time) suggested that one day beings from another solar system or galaxy may show up with a gigantic can of Black Flagg, and then we'll see how important we are.  So the bottom line is, man is completely delusional to think that he's so special that he, in particular, has God's undivided attention.
.
Yet, the very same people who compiled the Bible threaten Galileo for saying that the Earth wasn't the center of the universe.  But as the church finally acknowledged, Galileo was absolutely right.  Because, you see, Galileo didn't just depend on "faith," he utilized the intellect that God bestowed upon him to improve on Hans Lippershey's invention of the telescope and then used it to look out at the night sky.  If Galileo had continued to depended on "faith" instead of God's gift of intellect, preachers would still be running around here preaching that the entire universe revolved around man, just like they refuse to believe in global warming because it's financially inconvenient.  These people are ignorant, and their gross ignorance is a threat to the existence of all of humanity.  Yet we have "faith," and we continue to follow.
.
So while this may be hard on man's gargantuan ego, the fact is, in cosmic terms, man is no more significant in just this one galaxy than a colony of germs under a toilet seat in Uzbekistan.  Thus, man is on the mother of all ego trips to believe that God is kickin' it with either the Pope, Pat Robertson, or T.D. Jakes.  It's also pure lunacy to believe that man is so significant that "God sent his only begotten son" to suffer and die just to save man for his sins.  Just the thought of it is so childishly ridiculous it's laughable.  Even if we were that important, why would a loving God send his ONLY begotten son through all that agony and unnecessary hassle when he could just forgive us - after all, he is God, isn't he?  But if he did it to teach us some kind of lesson, it didn't work.
.
We can only know God's will by observing what he's done, so the one thing we do know about God is that he intended for man to be an intellectual being. He made that clear by blessing us with a logical mind, so we’re slapping him in the face by choosing to follow "the word of man" instead of following what he's clearly demonstrated was his will - for mankind to be logical thinkers, not to go around believing in talkin’ snakes, walkin’ dead men, and that God only speaks to White men - not all of humanity, but the White man in particular.  But by looking at the books in the Bible, that seems to be the case.  Didn't he ever speak to the Chinese, or Africans?   If he did, it's not reflected by books in the Bible.  Where's the Book of Chong, or Mumbulu in the Bible?  Even White women are relegated to second-class status.  There's not one book in the Bible that was written by a woman, but that's not surprising, because the bigoted men in the Catholic church don't even believe women are worthy of being priests, and Pope Damasus I of the Catholic church compiled the Bible.
.
So according to what we see in the Bible, the White man reigns supreme in the eyes of God.  In fact, he occupies a status just beneath that of God himself.  The Bible says, "Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ.” - Ephesians 6:5   In other words, you should know your place, and stay in it.  But God didn't have anything to do with that stupidity.  That has man written all over it.  Yet, still we worship, and still we follow.  So our "faith" is not in God, it's in man - and no, I'm not "the Devil trying to lead you astray."
.
CHRISTIANS ARE BEING TAUGHT TO HATE THESE
TWO BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE, JUST BECAUSE THEY DON'T
LOOK, THINK, AND ACT LIKE THEMSELVES. THEY'RE
BEING TOLD THEY'RE "UN-GODLY."
All you have to do to live a Godly life is to live the best life you can, help others whenever you can, and mind your own business.  But the Bible was designed and compiled by Pope Damasus I (nearly 400 years after the death of Jesus) to get you to believe in fairy tales, jump through a lot of hoops, and prepare you for brainwashing - and in that respect, it's served it's purpose well.  But in terms of enlightening mankind it's been an abject failure.  It's cause more hatred, bigotry, and dissension among man than any book ever written - and there's a good reason for that, because the only time man follows it is when he's looking for a scripture to justify killing other men who don't believe what he believes.  Clear evidence of that is there's going to be a lot of Christians who are going to hate my guts just for saying what I'm saying now.  But while that attitude is clearly ungodly, their attitude is, "It's not that I hate everyone who doesn't look, think, and act like me - it's just that God does."  We're seeing that attitude reflected in Donald Trump right now - "Everyone who's a Mexican, or of the Muslim faith, is the enemy."
.
Black people were taught these Mother Goose tales by White folks while they had us tied up next to the mules, yet, now we’re more devoted to their nonsense than they ever were. Wouldn’t you think that if God had created religion to guide man that he would have created only one instead of multiple religions that caused man hate one another’s guts?  That defeats its purpose.  And if the religion that we were taught was true, wouldn’t the people who taught it to us follow it themselves?  But if a slave had walked out of the field to go “worship the Lord” and went into a White church and sat next to a White woman, the preacher would’ve stopped his sermon on “loving thy neighbor” mid sentence just long enough to lynch him.  Yet, we’re gorging ourselves on every word they taught us as though we heard it come directly from the mouth of God.
.
We’ve been so brainwashed that many of us are like a man sitting on a rail road track and seeing an oncoming train.  Instead of using the common sense that God gave him and simply getting off the track, he decides to “test his faith” and get on his knees and pray that God stops the train. That kind of stupidity is gonna to cause the man to perish, and it does - the train didn't even slow down - because God did his part when he gave the man a brain and he failed to use it.  So the man wasn’t testing his faith in God, he was testing his faith in what another man told him about God.  The same is true of us.  If we don't learn to use the common sense that God bestowed upon us and stop having more “faith” in the White man’s fairy tales than in what God has done, we’re also gonna perish, because after God clearly demonstrated his will by giving us a brain, to allow ourselves to remain ignorant is a sin - and believing that a walking dead man is gonna appear to solve all our problems is just that - sinfully ignorant.  It hasn’t happened in 400 years, and it’s not about to happen any time in the future.
.
While we’re on our knees praying, the White establishment is cutting our throats, because religion keeps us docile and thinking that “salvation” is right around the corner.  Think about it.  Did all of our prayers keep Trump out of office, or keep our children from being shot down in the street?  No they didn’t.  God’s not gonna stop that train either.  It’s up to us to save ourselves.  So we need to get up off our knees and get off the tracks - and in a hurry, if we haven’t already squandered away any time we might have had left - because the American Express is about to obliterate us, and God is just gonna sit there and watch, because we chose to believe in the White man’s religious dogma instead of the common sense that  he bestowed upon us.
.
NOTICE THAT THE DEVIL IS ALWAYS PORTRAYED
AS HAVING DARK SKIN, NEVER WHITE.
I've known intuitively that Christianity didn't make sense every since I was a child sitting up in Sunday school.  Actually, it makes no more sense than Voodoo.  I'd sit there (at 9 years old) and say to myself, "This stuff doesn't make sense.  If Adam and Eve were the first two people on Earth and they only had two sons, where did the rest of us come from, and where did the people come from who Cain went to live with after he killed his brother?"  But I was afraid to either say, or admit that I didn't believe it because I'd been threatened with demons, Hell, and brimstones if I refused to "believe" - and that's a very real fear for a child when even your protectors are scared to death.  That's why Christianity is so thoroughly ingrained in us, because it was threatened into us by authority figures when we were children, and that was a horrible thing to do to a child - in fact, it's ungodly.
.
AND THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT'S HAPPENED.
THAT'S WHY WE'RE STUCK WITH DONALD TRUMP -
BIGOTED AND CLOSED-MINDED CHRISTIANS.
So personally, I don't think that most Christians really believe that Christian nonsense for a minute, unless they're complete idiots, but they'll never admit it, because they too were threatened as children.  That's why you hear so many "Amens," "hallelujahs" and so much  testifying in church, because they know deep down inside that they don't believe that snakes can talk, but they're trying to convince God that they do, which is ironic, since it's God's gift of common sense and logic that's telling them NOT to believe it.  Yet they continue to try to lie to God, because they've been taught that any atrocity can be forgiven, EXCEPT,  not believing in what they've been told.  And Christians take full advantage of that loophole, because many are absolute horrors Monday through Saturday.  Pat Robertson is the most evil-spirited person I've ever seen - he even LOOKS like a demon - and if you'll notice, Christians tend to be some of the most closed-minded and bigoted people in the country.  Yet, we follow.
.
A PREACHER'S HOME
And many of these Black preachers better hope like hell that Hell is just a myth, because they should be educating the Black community on how to survive its adversities instead of getting rich off our misery by giving paid spoken-word concerts every Sunday morning.  So if Hell is real and not just a myth, God is gonna slam them in there so hard and fast that they’re gonna be bouncing off the walls.  They shouldn’t be preaching us a sermon, they should be living us one.
.
Frederick Douglass had this to say about the jackleg preachers of his time -  ". . . the church of this country is not only indifferent to the . . . [bad treatment of] the slave, it actually takes sides with the oppressors. It has made itself the . . . [defender] of American slavery, and the shield of American slave-hunters. Many of its most eloquent . . . [preachers], who stand as the very lights of the church, have shamelessly given the sanction of religion and the Bible to the whole slave system. They have taught that man may, properly, be a slave; that the relation of master and slave is ordained of God; that to send back an escaped bondman to his master is clearly the duty of all the followers of the Lord Jesus Christ; and this horrible blasphemy is palmed off upon the world . . . [as] Christianity."
.
So I’m sorry for having to be so brutally blunt regarding an issue that is obviously so close to your heart, but our current circumstance calls for exactly what I'm saying, and since God made me arrogant enough to say it, I feel like I'm simply following his will - and I didn't make up one syllable, or ask you to believe in one magic trick in order to hold my words together.  So just remember this - your religious beliefs are merely an accident of birth.  If you’d been born in Israel, chances are, you’d be a Jew, if you’d been born in Iran you’d be a Muslim, or China, a Buddhist, so you’ve been SOCIALIZED  into believing what you so passionately believe is the word of God.  And again,  regardless to what man says, you can only know God’s will by what God has done, and what he’s done is blessed us with logical minds.  So when that mind tells you that snakes don’t talk, and dead men don’t walk, that’s God speaking to you, just like he's speaking to me right now. And his word is self-evident, so you don’t have to have “faith” in it.  You only have to have “faith” in the word of man, but for some reason, he always wants to be paid for it.
.
So put your "faith" aside for just one moment  and use the common sense that you KNOW that God bestowed upon you and ask yourself one question - How can you claim to hate White supremacy and then get all dressed up on Sunday morning and go PAY  a man to tell you that God is White?
.
JUST LISTEN TO THIS IDIOT!
