EXCELLENCE IS THE KEY TO BLACK EQUALITY
THE BRILLIANT AMANDA GORMAN
"Amanda Gorman is the youngest inaugural poet in U.S. history, as well as an award-winning writer and cum laude graduate of Harvard University, where she studied Sociology. She has written for the New York Times and has three books forthcoming with Penguin Random House."

ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS
.
As a fellow writer, I was flooded with mixed emotions while listening to this brilliant young lady’s flawless performance at the Joe Biden's Presidential Inauguration ceremony. As a Black man I was bursting with pride at her absolute brilliance, while as a writer of well over 30 years, my heart bled at the glaring recognition that I’m obviously not all that. But as a human being, I take great pride in the fact that my first emotion greatly overwhelmed the latter.
.
Beyond the eloquence of Amanda’s words, her essence blared an undeniable message to all those who suffer the desperate need to delude themselves regarding the acuity of Black intellect. ‘Inferior? I don't think so. You are right to feel threatened, because while you’re out screaming revolution, chanting "you won't replace us", and breaking windows, we're quietly breaking the shackles of the past’.
.
Amanda’s extraordinary brilliance also sent a stirring message to her people – ‘What we causally dismiss as mere soul, is in reality, unfettered creative greatness, straining to be set free’.

Religious bigotry: It's not that I hate everyone who doesn't look, think, and act like me - it's just that God does.
