DONALD TRUMP’S SCHEME TO OVERTHROW AMERICAN DEMOCRACY

Beneath the Spin*Eric L. Wattree

EXCELLENCE IS THE KEY TO BLACK EQUALITY

DONALD TRUMP’S SCHEME TO OVERTHROW AMERICAN DEMOCRACY

The Republican Party has revealed itself to be the ultimate hypocrites and un-American wimps. Wasn’t it the Republicans who’s been preaching to all who would listen that they were the quintessential patriots and the most fierce defenders of American democracy, and who claimed to believe in law and order and personal accountability for one’s actions?  But now that their guru, Donald Trump, has spit on the Constitution, incited insurrection, and tried to overturn the will of the people for his own personal gain, they’re desperately searching under every rock to find a justifiable excuse to protect him from having to answer for his crimes.

.

They now claim that holding Trump accountable for his actions would “divide the country”. But the mere thought of letting Donald Trump off the hook in the interest of “bringing the nation together” is ridiculous. It not only won’t work, but it sends the wrong message to future seditionists lurking in the wings. The American philosophy is supposed to be equal justice under the law, but we’ve established a pattern of always letting the influential off the hook and never requiring them to answer for their crimes.  If we’d sent Nixon, Reagan, George W. Bush, and Dick Cheney to prison for their crime sprees, Donald Trump might not have recklessly incited the insurrection against our democracy causing the deaths of three capitol police officers - but, of course, we can never know about Trump, because he lacks simple common sense.
.
Nevertheless, the belief that letting criminals skate on their crimes help to keep the nation united is a myth. Let's call it what it really is - caving in to the threat of further violence. People like Trump specialize in exploiting weakness, so they're prone to being disruptive regardless of how civil we try to be. In fact, such people see compassion as a form of weakness, so that gives them free reign, and Donald Trump is a perfect example of that. On the other hand, Donald Trump is a coward and a self-serving bully, so he would never do anything that was sure to bring painful repercussions upon himself. Thus, by continuing to let criminals off the hook just because they have power and influence only makes them less concerned about the consequences of committing their crimes. So, the issue should be non-debatable - anyone who lodges an assault against our democracy should be thrown in jail, or worse.
.

Far too many of us assume that because we have common sense, everybody else has at least enough common sense to define the limits of their behavior. But as we've seen in the case of Donald Trump, that's not the case. There are a large number of people in this world who only want what they want and will go to any extent to get it. It's not only a form of ignorance, but a form of mental illness. So, we've got to protect ourselves from such people by dropping the hammer on them - a sledgehammer. And that's what we've got to do with Donald Trump, and all of his reckless followers. Otherwise, they'll convince themselves that their reckless behavior is the key to achieving their goals.

Sedition is such a serious threat to our way of life that it's the one crime in which we should consider the death penalty. Trump wanted to reinstate the firing squad, so it would send an ironic message if he became the first one to get it - and I'm dead serious. If we're serious about defending our democracy, we must establish and carry out laws that reflect that attitude. After all, we're talking about people who are out to completely overthrow our way of life. So, letting them off the hook for the sake of civility? Any society that stupid doesn't deserve a democracy, and they won't have one for long.
.
The attack on our capitol was not a spontaneous event – it was a planned conspiracy against our democracy. The attached video predicts 8 weeks (EIGHT WEEKS!) prior to the election that if Trump loss he would claim election fraud. In addition, The Trump campaign paid the capitol demonstration organizers 2.7 million dollars - AFTER he’d already lost the election. Donald trump decided that the only fair election is an election where he wins. If he lost, regardless of the circumstances, he was going to claim fraud and incite a rebellion. Thus, Donald Trump planned the insurrection against our democracy. He had every intention of joining Putin, by becoming the first American dictator.
.
So, the senate has an absolute obligation to convict Donald Trump. Failing to do so would be a gross abdication of their responsibility to both the Constitution, and, the American people. It will clearly show that they’ve placed their own self-interests above that of the nation, the people, and the United States Constitution. And if that proves to be the case, they are of absolutely no use to this nation. After all, what's the use of having soldiers who are too cowardly to face the enemy?

CONSERVATISM HAS PROVEN ITSELF TO NOT BE A PHILOSOPHY BUT A PATHOLOGY

Beneath the Spin*Eric L. Wattree

EXCELLENCE IS THE KEY TO BLACK EQUALITY

CONSERVATISM HAS PROVEN ITSELF TO NOT BE A PHILOSOPHY,
BUT A PATHOLOGY

The primary reason that so many conservatives are in love with Donald Trump is because he’s a perfect reflection of themselves, right down to the last flaw. While he doesn’t share any of their alleged “values” (Trump doesn't have any), but he does share their pathology, and they love him for it, because as President, he validates their belief that their flaws aren’t really that bad. But simply believing such a fantasy is a flaw in itself – it’s delusional.
.
Conservatism’s not a political philosophy, it’s a mental dysfunction that causes a person to desperately cling to past traditions and concepts that’s familiar to them at all cost. That’s how the so-called political philosophy got its name. Conservatives are dedicated to “conserving” all things that are familiar, and they consider anything unfamiliar as a threat. The primary reason for that is, more often than not, conservatives are not the most intellectual among us, and they're so untrustworthy themselves, that they assume everyone else shares that trait, so they consider anything requiring thinking outside of the box a possible ploy, and not to be trusted. That's why so many conservatives reject the the concept of climate change. They consider the concept an elitist conspiracy, and they consider anyone who went past high school, or who's arrogant enough to try to think, an elitist.
.
So, unlike progressives, who are analytical, fascinated by new possibilities, and eagerly embrace “progress”, conservatives are more inclined not to trust anything new. They’re more comfortable with the status quo. They rely on the minds of the past to guide them. That way, they’re not required to think.
.
That accounts for how so many of them can claim to be Christians while at
the same time lacking in any and all moral values. They don’t care anything about morality – if they did, they wouldn’t have slaughtered over 200 million Native Americans to steal their land, or enslaved over 12.5 million Africans to steal their labor, or engaged in 400 years of the most virulent forms of bigotry. They guided by The Doctrine of Discovery, which makes it morally acceptable to exploit anyone unlike themselves.
.
But they can't see that, because they’re blind to any facts that don’t serve their interests. So they tend to be autocrats by their very nature – they have to be to maintain the status quo and desperately avoid all manner of thought. Thus, it's not enough for them to control their own thoughts and behavior, they're not comfortable unless they can also control your thoughts and behavior as well. That's where their religion comes in - their claims of piety allows them to also claim that they’re controlling behavior is blessed and ordained by God. In other words, it's not so much that they choose to tell you how to live your life, but God chose them for the job.
.
RUSH: ANOTHER DRAFT DODGER
We've just witnessed a perfect example of their "nothing-else-needs-to-be-said" hypocrisy, in that regard. While the Republican Party claims to be the ultimate patriots who love God and country with a unique dedication more passionate than any other group in the world, in spite of the fact that they swore before God, country, and on the very graves of this nation's founding fathers that they’d be completely nonpartisan in their judgment during Donald Trump’s impeachment trial, after it was proven, without a doubt, that their hero used the founding document of this land for toilet paper, they simply said “We don’t want to hear any more”, and began to chant, “FOUR MORE YEARS!”. That proves irrefutably that the GOP's true convictions entail embracing whatever happens to be convenient for them at the moment, and that they’re completely willing to ignore God, country, or any oath administered to accommodate their own needs. Such people are dangerous, and much too reckless, self-serving, and immoral to be trusted with the reins of power.
.
REPUBLICAN SENATOR MITT ROMNEY

.
When viewed from an objective perspective, it becomes clear why conservatives love Donald Trump so passionately - they love him because they’re just like him - they're ignorant, deceitful, self-serving, narcissistic, and corrupt. And that doesn't constitute a political philosophy, that’s an American disability. So the bottom line is, if America intends to survive as a nation, rabid conservatism is a disease that urgently needs to be addressed, treated, and eradicated.

THE REPUBLICAN SENATE HAS REVEALED ITSELF TO BE FILLED WITH COWARDLY AND UNPATRIOTIC FRAUDS - JUST LIKE THEIR PRESIDENT

Beneath the Spin*Eric L. Wattree

EXCELLENCE IS THE KEY TO BLACK EQUALITY

THE REPUBLICAN SENATE HAS REVEALED ITSELF TO BE FILLED WITH COWARDLY AND UNPATRIOTIC FRAUDS -
JUST LIKE THEIR PRESIDENT

When you’re trying to dig yourself out of a hole, you’ve got to be careful during the digging not to cause the walls to cave in and make things worse. Well, that’s exactly what the Republican senate has done to themselves by voting not to allow any additional witnesses or evidence to be presented in the Trump impeachment trial. Trump's clumsy and corrupt handling of the Ukrainian matter already had the GOP in a hole, but their even clumsier defense made the situation even worse, and then, their refusal to allow new evidence in the midst of the ever-mounting bombshell evidence leaking out on a daily basis has made the situation a disaster. They don’t even have a credible excuse for their actions. So the evidence is clear for everyone to see – the GOP is engaged in a coverup that gives their personal interests priority over that of the country. That blows all of their claims of patriotism and the wearing of flag pins in their lapels straight to Hell.
.
That essentially destroys the credibility of the Republican Party, and conservatism in general, because the claim of patriotism is what they hang their hats on. They not only use it for campaign purposes by claiming that, unlike liberal Democrats, they love America, but they also use it to promote their bigotry. Look at how they used patriotism to attack Colin Keapernick.

.
Conservatives claimed that when Kaepernick took a knee during the National Anthem, he was disrespecting the flag. That always struck me as curious. How can Colin Kaepernick be accused of denigrating the flag by taking a knee when the flag is a SYMBOL of free expression? That’s like saying a person is disrespecting the church by being a Christian. That’s not only hypocritical, but stupid.
.
As a former marine I can say without a doubt - and I’m sure that Trump’s former Chief of Staff, Gen. Kelly, could also tell him - that American fighting men and women didn’t die for a piece of cloth or a song, they died for what that piece of cloth represents, the very personal freedom that Trump was trying to deny Kaepernick and his fellow players.  While I can fully understand Trump being ignorant in the area of American patriotism - since when the nation called upon him to serve the country, he showed up at the draft board with a note from his daddy's doctor saying his feet hurt - any TRUE American should understand that Colin Kaepernick and his fellow players were not disrespecting the flag at all, Trump did.
.
Colin Kaepernick was acting in the truest tradition of American patriotism by speaking out in order to make this country a better place for all. Unlike the Republican senate, he was willing to place his personal interest on the line to confront un-American bigots for being the lyin’ and hypocritical racists that they are - and the bigots know that!!! But once they were confronted with their own anti-Americanism, they claimed that it was the PLAYERS who were un-American!!! That’s typical racist bullshit. People of Trump's ilk also accused Dr. Martin Luther King of being un-American.

.
MAJORITY LEADER MITCH MCCONNELL
AND DONALD TRUMP
But now that these Trumplodytes have given America the collective finger, they’ve made it clear that it’s all been a scam from the very beginning. In spite of the fact that 50 to 43 percent of the American people wants Trump convicted by the senate and removed from office, Republican senators have given the most corrupt and self-serving President in the history of this nation a complete pass on his criminal behavior – and never mind that his reckless irresponsibility and profound ignorance is placing this nation, and the world, in extreme danger, they deem it to be in their own personal interest to turn a blind-eye to it.
.
From their point of view, the claim of patriotism can come in handy as long as it’s kept in perspective, but Trump controls the Republican Party and they need their seats in the senate. It's been reported that Republican senators were told that the head of anyone who didn't follow the party line would be placed on a spike. So they did just what they were told and said, to Hell with America. We have mortgages to pay!
.
In order to justify their position, Trump's lawyer, Alan Dershowitz, claimed that “Abuse of Power is not an impeachable offense", but that's clearly nonsense. The primary reason the founders left "High Crimes and Misdemeanors" undefined is so CONGRESS could determine whether a given behavior is impeachable on a case by case basis.
.
Dershowitz also claimed that whatever the President does, if he deems it to be in the best interest of the people, it's not impeachable. I'm sure you remember that argument from Richard Nixon - "If the President does it, it's not illegal."  But if that's the case, what if the President decides that killing his opponent so he can be re-elected is in the public interest? And since, according to the Department of Justice, the President can’t be indicted or held accountable while in office, if we can't impeach him, what are our options? We wouldn't have any, so essentially, Donald Trump is no longer  President, the Republican senate has crowned him King. He can not only do no wrong, but we can't even present evidence accusing him of doing any wrong, and that's distinctly un-American. Thus, American democracy has been disposed of like a used Tampon.
.
Federal law is clear:

.
18 U.S. Code § 1621. Perjury
.
"Whoever—
(1)
having taken an oath before a competent tribunal, officer, or person, in any case in which a law of the United States authorizes an oath to be administered, that he will testify, declare, depose, or certify truly, or that any written testimony, declaration, deposition, or certificate by him subscribed, is true, willfully and contrary to such oath states or subscribes any material matter which he does not believe to be true; or
(2)
in any declaration, certificate, verification, or statement under penalty of perjury as permitted under section 1746 of title 28, United States Code, willfully subscribes as true any material matter which he does not believe to be true; is guilty of perjury and shall, except as otherwise expressly provided by law, be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than five years, or both. This section is applicable whether the statement or subscription is made within or without the United States."
.
Based on the above law, Donald Trump and virtually every Republican member of the United States Senate is guilty of violating their oaths of office, and the senators are guilty of committing perjury in violating their oath to sit in judgment in the Trump Impeachment Trial IMPARTIALLY.

.
As a direct result of this criminal conduct, there have been 62 impeachments of federal officers in this nation's history, and this is the very first time in history that all witnesses and evidential documents have been blocked. So in spite of their oath to be impartial, the Republican senate told the house in no uncertain terms that we’re not going to allow the American people to either see or hear the evidence in this case, because then we'll have to justify letting this criminal off the hook. In doing so, they've committed a crime, but they think we're too dumb to realize that. And in addition to all of that, now new firsthand information is surfacing that suggests that Trump's defense attorney, Pat Cipollone, was involved in the original crime. It's a total rat's nest. So no wonder they're desperate to hide the facts!
.
The Republican senate is treating the American people like we’re children, so in November we must show them that we’re not. No organization can run efficiently that allows its employees to dictate to management, and that’s exactly what the American people represent under the United States Constitution – the Board of Directors of this nation. So in the next election we must put these insubordinate employees in their place, and relegate them all to the garbage heap of American history. If we fail to do so, our children will no longer live in the America we have come to know. They'll live under a dictatorship.
.
There’s a reason why Vladimir Putin is the only man in the world who Donald Trump respects. You'll never hear him call Vladimir out of his name on Twitter. Just take a moment to ask yourself - Why? Let me tell you why, because Donald Trump is greedy and selfish and the Russian mafia pulled him out of bankruptcy when no American bank would touch him - and as we speak they're using his name and businesses to launder money, that's why he's so desperate to keep his taxes hidden. So Trump doesn't care anything about you, your children, or America. All Trump cares about is the Trump Tower he wants to build in Moscow when he leaves office - that is, if he decides that he wants to leave office. Because he now has no choice but to try to turn America into a dictatorship at this point, because if he doesn't, he's going to prison.

WHY A TRUMP PARDON OF HIMSELF OR HIS ASSOCIATES WOULD BE UNCONSTITUTIONAL

Beneath the Spin * Eric L. Wattree

WHY A TRUMP PARDON OF HIMSELF OR HIS ASSOCIATES WOULD BE UNCONSTITUTIONAL
.
Legal scholars all over the country are debating whether or not Trump has the power to pardon himself. The answer should be clear but it seems that the experts are looking in the wrong place. Most legal scholars keep looking at Article II Section 2 of the Constitution which says, "The president “shall have power to grant reprieves and pardons for offenses against the United States, except in cases of impeachment." But they’re overlooking another part of the Constitution that overrides that - the Presidential Oath of Office.  Article VI, Clause 3, of the Constitution requires the President to "be bound by oath or affirmation, to support this Constitution."  And the Presidential Oath of Office says the following:
.
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States."
.
Thus, based on the Presidential Oath of Office, Trump cannot pardon himself, or any member of his extended crime family, because the case involves himself and it's a possible cause for impeachment. It's also a direct violation of the Presidential Oath of Office. He cannot pardon crimes in pursuit of self-service because it violates his oath of office in which he swore to “faithfully, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution ."  In addition, his successor cannot come in and pardon him later for the very same reason - he'd be failing to "faithfully, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution” as well.
.
Yes, a precedent has been set by previous Republican presidents of pardoning their cohorts and beneficiaries in crime  - Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan, George H. W. Bush and George W. Bush - but because we’ve been stupid in the past doesn’t mean that we should continue to be.
.
Continuing to adhere to such a corrupt policy is exactly what has led to the illegal abuse of presidential power that presidents have engaged in ever since Richard Nixon, so it is time to challenge that policy in the courts and make it clear that it’s illegal.
.
Allowing  a president, or his successor, to pardon either himself, or his fellow conspirators, in order to protect and/or absolve himself of crimes committed in office is a corruption of the intent of the United States Constitution, and it’s a direct violation of his Oath of Office.  Failing to recognize that fact will eventually lead to despotism, if it hasn’t already.  George W. Bush and Dick Cheney had no compunction against lying the nation into Iraq, torturing prisoners of war, are outing C.I.A. agent Valerie Plame because they knew they had a "get out of jail free" card in their back pocket, and Donald Trump seems to be acting on the same assumption. So both, the legal need, and justification for addressing this issue is clear and simple, and anyone who can't see that is either dumb, or simply doesn’t want to see it.

TRUMP BECOMING UNHINGED; GIULIANI THREATENING REVOLUTION

Beneath the Spin * Eric L. Wattree

TRUMP BECOMING UNHINGED; GIULIANI THREATENING REVOLUTION
.
Under the pressure of his former campaign manager, Paul Manafort, being convicted of eight felonies, his former attorney, Michael Cohen, pleading guilty to eight felonies and indicating he will cooperate with prosecutors, the Chief Financial Officer of the Trump businesses being given immunity to testify in court, and the Trump foundation under criminal scrutiny in the state of New York,  Donald Trump seems to be rapidly imploding.
.
It seems that Trump sees the writing on the wall, and as a result he’s recklessly lashing out at his Attorney General, Jeff Sessions, and both he and his attorney, Rudy Giuliani, have even begun to mention the “I-word” - Impeachment.
.
In an interview with Ainsley Earhardt on Fox News, Trump said,  "If I ever got impeached, I think the market would crash, I think everybody would be very poor. You would see numbers that you wouldn't believe." He went on to say, "You know, I guess it says something like high crimes and all - I don't know how you can impeach somebody who has done a great job." He also said, "I give myself an A+. I don't think any President has ever done what I have done." Thus, it seems that he's delusional as well.
.
Trump’s attorney, Rudy Giuliani, said in an interview with Sky News, “If President Donald Trump were impeached, ‘the American people would revolt. ‘You'd only impeach him for political reasons, and the American people would revolt against that.”’
.
Such comments come very close to inciting insurrection.  Of course, the Trump camp would say that they weren’t calling for insurrection at all, but these very same people accused Rep. Maxine Waters of advocating violence in her fight against the Trump policy of family separation for saying the following:
.
"Already, you have members of your Cabinet that have been booed out of restaurants, who have protesters taking up at their house who sang, ‘No peace, no sleep. No peace, no sleep.’ And guess what, we’re going to win this battle ... so let’s stay the course. Let’s make sure we show up wherever we have to show up. And if you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them and you tell them they're not welcome anymore, anywhere ... Mr. President, we will see you everyday, every hour of the day, everywhere that we are to let you know you cannot get away with this."
.
Nowhere in that comment did Rep. Waters mention any sort of violence, but Giuliani very clearly, and without stuttering, suggested the possibility of “revolt.”
.
So Prosecutor Mueller, that should be yet another charge against the recklessly dangerous behavior of Donald Trump.  Considering Trump's current situation, the mindless disposition of his hardcore supporters, and his relentless attacks on our government institutions, neither he, nor anyone in his administration should never even whisper the word revolt.

 REBELLION OR INSURRECTION - 18 U.S. Code § 2383
.
Whoever incites, sets on foot, assists, or engages in any rebellion or insurrection against the authority of the United States or the laws thereof, or gives aid or comfort thereto, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.
.
And then there's the crime of jury tampering:
.
JURY TAPERING - 18 U.S. Code § 1504
.
Whoever attempts to influence the action or decision of any grand or petit juror of any court of the United States upon any issue or matter pending before such .
.
Jury tampering is the crime of attempting to influence a jury through other means than the evidence presented in court, such as conversations about the case outside the court, offering bribes, making threats or asking acquaintances to interfere with a juror.
.
A person commits the crime of jury tampering if, with intent to influence a juror's vote, opinion, decision or other action in the case, he attempts directly or indirectly to communicate with a juror other than as part of the proceedings in the trial of the case. Jury tampering may be committed by conducting conversations about the case outside the court, offering bribes, making threats or asking acquaintances to communicate with a juror.
.
During the Paul Manafort trial, just as the jury was about to go into deliberation, Trump said:
.
“...This is a terrible situation and Attorney General Jeff Sessions should stop this Rigged Witch Hunt right now, before it continues to stain our country any further. Bob Mueller is totally conflicted, and his 17 Angry Democrats that are doing his dirty work are a disgrace to USA!”
.
“I think the whole Manafort trial is very sad, when you look at what’s going on there. I think it’s a very sad day for our country. . . He worked for me for a very short period of time. But you know what? He happens to be a very good person. And I think it’s very sad what they’ve done to Paul Manafort.”
.
Thereafter Manafort was convicted of 8 of 18 counts against him.  But one juror, Paula Duncan, an admitted Trump supporter, reported that Manafort would have been convicted of all 18 counts if it were not for one holdout.
.
And then, if that’s not enough, Trump should also be held to account for Abuse of Office:
.
ABUSE OF OFFICE - 25 CFR 11.448
.
A person acting or purporting to act in an official capacity or taking advantage of such actual or purported capacity commits a misdemeanor if, knowing that his or her conduct is illegal, he or she:
(a) Subjects another to arrest, detention, search, seizure, mistreatment, dispossession, assessment, lien or other infringement of personal or property rights; or
(b) Denies or impedes another in the exercise or enjoyment of any right, privilege, power or immunity.

THE AMERICAN FLAG IS A SYMBOL OF FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION. IF WE ARE DENIED THAT RIGHT, WHAT ARE WE SALUTING,
WHITE SUPREMACY?
.

What makes Donald Trump so dangerous to America is not just that he has no compunction against crossing the lines of democracy, but he's so self-serving and clueless that he doesn't even recognize that there are lines.  He seems to think he's King Trump, and we can't allow him to set that precedent. So it is incumbent upon Special Counsel Mueller to not only throw the kitchen sink at him, but also, all the dishes and utensils.
